I had a consultation on Friday and was told I have protruding nipples.  Everything included, he can do the procedure for $2000 next week.  He showed me some before and after pictures from other patients and it seems his work is pretty good.  He has done 5 of these surgeries in the last month and I am confident that he knows what he is doing.  My only concern is that he is only concerned with the nipple area and does not think lipo is needed for the surrounding area.  He may be right, but I thought I would get some opinions from here.  I'll have pics up shortly............

yeah, pics would be helpful.  $2,000? Sounds cheap. Where are you? I know different regions of the USA can vary.  I'd imagine it's like that in other countries too. Maybe only $2,000 because no lipo? Hey, if you've seen pics and are confident in the guy, i say go for it.  Does that price include anesthesia & facility fee? If so, sounds like you got a good deal.

Anyway, while I'm trying to figure out the pics......  I am in Kansas.  I was quoted a ballpark figure of $3000 on the phone, but when the Doc saw what he was dealing with he said $2000 for what he wants to do.  The $2000 includes everything but meds and the surgery would be done under local.

Here's one more....

I want to believe that the procedure he is talking about would be what I want, it's cheap and sounds easy.  He said that in excising tissue under the nipples he would contour the surrounding area to taper it off.  I asked if he thought lipo was needed and he said no way.  I don't need a board flat chest, but I just don't know if this would solve what is bothering me.  Any opinions?

  • Gyne free, is the way to be!
Not bad. Just make sure hes Borad certified etc. I'm getting mine done in a month for $3,000. Mine condition is slightly worse than yours. Still minor all in all. Many people on here will say "nooo noo, go to a specialist" The ones who need specialists are ones with serious cases. Plastic surgeons are all trained in doing gynecomastia surgerys. Male brest reduction is one of the top cosmetic operations than men get.

Kansas huh. After looking at your pics and taking into consideration that part of the US and since you've seen pics of his work, i once again say...go for it. My surgery is about $6,000 but i'm in AZ and have a worse case than you which will probably be a more extensive procedure and therefore more costly.  Good luck

I had excision only under local anesthetic in Kansas 3 weeks ago for $1800, but i also have alot less body fat than you and didn't expect him to say lipo was neseccary.  I am dealing with some scar tissue now that is getting smaller every day and I am definitely happy with the results.  I say go for it.  Where at in Kansas?  PM me if you don't want to be that specific on the boards.  Thanks

Glad to hear it worked out for you.  Hopefully I can achieve the same.  I'm in Manhattan, you?

Most surgeons will say that they cannot be sure whether it is glandular or fat in the chest, that they cannot be 100% sure what it is until they have removed it and they have it in their hands…that is the official line.

But I still think good surgeons have a feel for this and can very often know what it is just by viewing it.

I do not know your surgeon but he feel he knows it is glandular and that is not surprising.

It doesn't look to me as though you are overweight in the slightest and I do not see an accumulation of fat anywhere that stands out.  I think it may well be just glandular mass and perhaps less than most people.

It looks to me as though you have a fairly muscular chest and that would make the gynecomastia more pronounced as the glandular mass would protrude even more because it sits on top of the muscle.

I think your bonus might be a muscular chest that you have never seen before, good luck.

Make sure you go to other PSs though and get second and even third opinions.  On the issue of surgery there are people here who know far more than I who have been through the various procedures- trust in them they will helps you.

P.S

This of course is just my opinion, nothing more.

Thanks Hypo.  I am going to get a few more opinions from PS's.  I want to get this taken care of, but realize rushing into it is a bad idea.
