I've been an on and off again reader of these boards for a while but I think it's time I get serious about correcting my gynecomastia problem.  I'm almost 30 and, like so many of you, it has affected every facet of my life since I was 13.  I'm one of the lucky ones, though.  I CAN cover it up to some extent, but it's still there.  By covering it up I mean that I always wear button up shirts with double breast pockets and tight undershirts.  I also put on a LOT of weight, just so I looked somewhat normal.  But it's getting ridiculous.  I want to get back into shape.  I want to go swimming with my son.  My idea of heaven is walking outside with a plain white tshirt on.  Wow.  Anyway, I have puffy nips.  If I tweek them or get real cold the nipples are hard and I don't look like a freak so much, just look chubby.  Are the surgeries to correct puffy nips different from out and out male breast surgery?  From what I understand I have a gland under each nipple.  If I don't want lipo and only want the gland taken out what will this consist of?  I'm finally at a point in my life where I can raise the funds to afford this surgery.  I'm in the Houston area.  Are there reputable doctors here?  What's my first step?  The closest I've come to was going to a family doctor and talking about the problem to him.  He groped and proded and said don't worry about it....exercise will take care of it.  We all know that's not true.  So, I want it taken care of.  By next summer I want to be walking around in that white t and swimming with my son in public.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Im in a similar situation, barring the age and the family that goes with it :P

The two surgeries fall into the same category, it says it in the name: male BREAST reduction. Them puffy nips are caused by mammary gland ;)

Google is your best place to start, with terms like: houston, gynecomastia, male breast reduction, male chest reduction, cosmetic surgery. You may want to extend your searches a bit further affield, say Austin or Dallas etc.. Many doctors form medical groups, so search for organisations as well as individual surgeons. Choose ones which specialise in gyne, and failing there are any, choose cosmetic surgeons with a lot of experience.

After this, it's a matter of making consultation bookings and heading over and getting checked out, getting a quote and when surgery would be possible...

Surgery to correct a puffy nipple may also involve treatment of gynecomastia as well.  Only an exam by an experienced surgeon can determine the best course of treatment.  Obviously, do your research carefully for a plastic surgeon who is well versed in gyne surgery.  But once you have your expert surgeon, it would be wise to defer to his opinion rather than to dictate to the surgeon how he should do the surgery.

Best of luck!!
