Alright. Like many of you I suffer from Gynecomastia. Ive personally had it since childhood. Also like many of you I never could save 7k+ to have it removed.

I came across this website about 4 months ago. Medicaldiscounts .com or Medicaldisountsdirect .com
after doing some research I cant find any reviews about the service or the company itself. RED FLAG?

Im looking for someone that may have some say as to the legitimacy of the company.

I called the 800 number on the site twice. Two months apart. I cannot recall who I spoke with the first time around but I was given a rundown of how things work.

I gave her my location LV. and was quoted for $6,700. She informed me that if I could make my way to California The cost would be $3100. Why such a huge difference in price? She informed me that she has been in the medical field for quite some time and has built a relationship with certain doctors as a result of her referrals prices are discounted. Something along the lines as a travel agent I guess.

I called the 2nd time just today and spoke with someone. Says she is the CEO. She quoted me for a price of $2400 for full corrective surgery that includes lipo & the incision to remove the gland. And and I quote, "All prices include everything: physician, surgeon, facility, supplies and anesthesiologist. Down to the last cotton ball." Apparently the price fluctuates with certain months, when a doctor will run something of a special. (not her exact words but.) Anyway, she informed me no doctor would see a patient without a chart previously submitted. She said there would be a paypal deposit required. 2nd RED FLAG?

I was emailed what seems to be the patient chart. Here are the 5 Doc files required. I'm awaiting the paypal deposit request.

All Doctors are board certified plastic surgeons.

Please check out the site. Let me know your thoughts and or concerns.
I have a tentative appointment for the July 20th. I have not paid the deposit and I have not been given the Doctors name or location as of yet.

It is worthy to note that this site offers MANY services and has been running since Aug12th 2000. Started off offering limited services, adding to them over the last 11 years.

As I have often said on this forum, your first priority should be to find an expert gyne surgeon.

You seem to be basing your research on getting the lowest price from a dubious website.

I have seen other "doctor referral" sites, ads, etc, over the years.  Most of them seem to refer the same surgeons for every single type of surgery which requires an "expert."  Reason?  Those docs are paying for it in some way.

Caveat Emptor -- let the buyer beware.

I was a highly skilled service technician, with the ability to quickly trouble shoot and repair equipment. I was in great demand and traveled all over North America for several years. That did not mean that I was qualified to repair my own service truck. In fact I took my truck to a mechanic who specialized in vehicle repairs.

Surgeons specialize as well, One man cannot do it all and do anything well.

See a specialist.

This is the reason that I have been educating suffers (both on and off this forum) for many years. The plastic surgery industry is full of these deceptive ads. As a potential plastic surgery consumer, you have to learn to ignore all ads. You also have to know that surgeons pay for almost all types of marketing; there are companies (one notorious one in california) that surgeons pay to receive positive comments on google, yelp, etc. Even on this very website, surgeons pay an annual fee to be a part of this community. As someone said previously, buyer beware.

It takes months of research to really understand who to trust and not to trust. Your best bet is to sit down with a few plastic surgeons and talk with them. Start in your local area first.

This summer, there will be additional resources to help you wade through this nonsense. Until that point, you'll have to do all the legwork. Good luck in your research!

I swear, had the US not gone through McCarthyism, half of these scams wouldn't exist because half of you wouldn't fall for them...
