welcome to the boards, we know the story. this is a question that's come up a lot, and if you keyword search "military", i assume past threads from at least the latest version change last year (there have been at least 4 boards in its history) so you can find past discussions on it. if you're in boot now, assume it's an experience
ignore what your parents said, you have every right to fix this, and if they don't understand, then that's just how it is. the military has seen this before. if you can get the op, great, and tell us if it happens, not every new enlistee reports back. i imagine they're lax about it, but it should be in the service's interest as a morale thing, they don't need guys giving you s*** for this problem. my only concern is that thye not have some generalist who doesn't know gyne do a crap job that somebody else might have to fix up later. good luck and let us know.
