Anyone not worn a compression vest?

I've just scheduled my surgery and my doc is not recommending a compression vest. I trust him but it seems that a lot of doctors do recommend them. I'm wondering how many guys who've had surgery have worn the vest vs. not. And if you didn't, did you have any longer healing time or unsatisfactory results? Just curious.

If you don't feel comfortable not wearing one, it shouldn't hurt if you get one and wear it anyway.
