Worried on areola reduction

hi,
have anyone experienced areola size reduction? Is all the nipple been removed totally and the left circumference areola is been stiched together and an artificial nipple is created by stiching? My areola is big ( diameter of 5cm ) and puffy. One  PS suggested I should do areola reduction as well when my gland/fattay tissue is been removed. That means he will cut all around the nipple instead the semi circle to remove the fat/gland .I am quite worried about that. Please advise.

Skin is usually very elastic. You should tell your PS that you don't want him/her to do any areola reduction. Just have excision and lipo performed. You may find that your areolas will shrink to an acceptable size. If, at a later date, you are not happy with the size of your areolas, go back to your PS for an areola reduction.

Hi ,
Thank you for the respond. I am worried at what size my 5cm areola will reduce. In fact I don't know is 5cm too big of areola. 2 to 5 ppl I saw commented my areola is big. My doctor was only speaking abt excision and not combining with liposuction. I brought up the issue of crater problem, and he said he'll be able to remove fat around with the excision and that will not cause crater . Is that possible? Has excision method alone worked for puffy areola. I am really worried. Please help.

Shrinkage of areola diameter can happen when the mass behind the skin is reduced.  You can see many such examples in my Areola / Nipple Reduction Picture Gallery and the additional photographs here, and here.

Here is an example of a patient from Australia of gigantic areola complication from another doctor's surgery.  This Revision Areola / Nipple Reduction used a Donut Reduction Technique.

I prefer my smaller scars seen in the other examples seen on my site when possible.  However, some problems need the skin reduction.  Such issues are best explored during a consultation.
