Looking good Nipper mate. You can't even tell you've had anything done!

I'm suffering with scar tissue quite a lot. My chest is all over the place at the moment. At first I thought it was the vest digging in me and leaving marks, but I've realised I've actually developed these dents/ridges above my nipples that look sunken in that aren't shifting. There are also a few hard lumps around my chest too that I'm guessing are scar tissue as well. Basically it's a complete mess. Just hoping it all sorts itself out. I'm definitely not having any of the euphoria I'm meant to be feeling - I can't help feeling I've swapped one problem for another.

Knives, it's the lipo process which is most likely to produce the scar tissue, as it's a rough treatment. You have 600mm of fat removed in total, which is a lot. So it's natural for you to have a bit more scar tissue than nipper, who had significantly less. Scar tissue goes in time. You had your surgery very recently, at least give your body some time to heal. If it doesn't go naturally, for some reason. You can always have injections to make them go. don't worry! Don't study the chest too much, it will make your life hell for no reason!

darkstar is spot on, my chest was an absolute mess last week and the week before, looked like massive orange peel all over my chest and was swollen in a few places too.

Now I've been able to do a bit massage, things are on the up with the whole look.  knives, it takes ages to heal man, I'm no where near..I just look ok in the photos, but believe me, in certain lights, there are dents n stuff all over.  And i have dents near my nipple and the other one is puffed out like mad but I'm not worried and probably won't be until 12 months from now if I'm unhappy with it that is.  Far too early to be making decisions.

I know we all want it so bad and it has an almost dreamlike quality, almost too good to be true.  I think that's what's making you have your doubts.  You will look great in another week or two mate, trust me ;)

@adamj

Oh hell yeah mate, all over the friggin shop, didn't like what I saw when I removed the vest in the first ten days or so, was looking hella lumpy.  And around and under nipples is still all caved in and stuff.  Both nipples totally numb, feels weird when I touch them...Massaging is the next step for you guys soon, so you will all benefit heaps!

I have to say, massaging does seem to make a difference, even if it's all in the mind.  It's enough to dismiss the doubts from the healing rollercoaster.  Plus, I used to have these creases right under my chest, where the fat would fold/hang..I thought even after having the surgery they'd be permanent, can't see them anymore, will take more than scar tissue and a lumpy chest to put a frown on THIS face! :)

@darkstar @Nipper Cheers for the reassurance fellas. I know it's too early to expect anything near the end result and that it's a long way away, but it's just those doubts that maybe it won't heal itself.

I'm going to post some updated pics in my thread - be good to know what you think after seeing them.

Must be close to vest off Nipper, right? What are you, 10 days ahead? How are things looking?

Things are looking good mate, especially after a massage.  Had the vest off for a good 12hrs yesterday, never felt safe with it off that long before, chest always goes tingly or starts to hurt.  But I was ok yesterday, so must be starting to localize now.

One of my nipples is either swollen or has built up fluid behind it, so one sits under the pec at an angle while the mooby one sits more flat against it.  But when I tense, they both look the same, so deffo no gland behind there just swollen or fluid, will speak with Karidis about it in my follow up in a couple of weeks.

Can't believe I'm almost 4 weeks post now, flew over.  So much stuff to do now, it's unbelievable, it's a brand new world for the likes of us and I'll be fucked if I let this rollercoaster ruin it for me.

I'll be 4 weeks post op on Wednesday next week.  So technically can do without the vest from then but will see how I get on.

Damn straight! I cannot wait to go swimming, going to be awesome! Wasn't expecting the tingly or hurting thing so I guess I'll keep my vest handy when I take it off for the first time tomorrow evening after work. Glad things are all looking good.  Yeh docs said swelling could be as long as 9 months so probably is.

I've started to leave it off for about 10-12hrs a day now and massaging once after I remove the vest then once again before I put it back on.  Bought a nice tight Nike compression top for wearing maybe now and again but definitely to provide support when I get back into some cardio, which I intend to break myself into gently next week.  I have a new liking for white tops, dunno how that came about ;P

Haha, yeh I wonder?! Good call on the compression top. I never thought of that. I wouldn't have dreamed of wearing one of those pre-op!

The compression top provides great support, I would recommend getting one for when you first take the vest off as it feels totally weird, kinda exposed and mine was all tingly and would get painful pretty quick at first.

They provide a good deal of support but remain comfortable, but your chest will still swell up in places after you've had the vest off for a few hours but I think on the whole, my chest looks all the better for having the breaks. And I got a load of itchy spots on my flanks, they are clearing up now.
