This is a great thread, probably one of the best I have ever read. Its a shame its ended without conclusion :(
I would love to know the outcome here and if the swelling and the fluid in the nipple went down or if it stayed...if you log back in, please tell us!! :)

Cheers

I concur.  What a great thread!  Thanks so much guys.

I have a query: I have a consultation with Karidis on 12th June.  I'm trying to work out approximate timings, as I have a holiday coming up right at the end of August.  From reading this thread and others, is it about a 6 week wait from consultation to surgery?  So I would be looking at the end of July probably for surgery? (fingers crossed Karidis isn't going on holiday around that time!!!).  So my question is: if I were operated on on say 24th July, would I be ok to wander around in swim shorts with my top off on Saturday 31st August for a week?  I'll be away with my partner and 2 mates, and obviously I'd rather not tell my mates what I've had done as it will just draw attention to it as we're lazing by the pool.  I guess there are 2 things to consider.  Firstly, will I need to wear a compression vest at all (even at night) 5 weeks after surgery?  Secondly, will all the bruising have gone down then (I'd say I am a bit slimmer than Nipper's original pre-op pics so might not not aggressive lipo), thus not making it look like I've had surgery?

Would I be able to go for a light swim or a run on the beach so soon after surgery?

Also, is it hideous wearing this compression vest in the summer, even in the UK weather?  And is it obvious that you are wearing it if you have just a t-shirt over the top?  Are there certain clothes that are best to disguise that you're wearing one?  I wear casual clothes to work.

Sorry for all the questions!!!!  Any honest answers would be veeeeeery much appreciated.  Thanks guys.

(PS my 2 mates have really good bodies, hence why I am keen to get this op done before my holiday!)

Hi Mate, I will try and answer all of your questions...first of all I had my op with Karidis about a week after my consultation! You will not be wearing the vest at 5 weeks...you wear it for 24 hours for two weeks then 12 hours for a further two weeks then not at all thereafter. I wont lie the vest for me was just a nightmare..really uncomfortable - sorry :-/
Casual clothes on top will be fine, nobody will know so all good there. At 5 weeks you will be able to run and swim, all of my bruising was gone at between 2-3 weeks and there was a fair bit of bruising. I am at 8 weeks now and I still have the incision lines under my nipples and also the nipples have recently swollen which is part of the process...as per this thread! I hope this helps...If it helps you I set up a website to record my recovery...there is about 80 pics on there so you can see what you will expect after your surgery, I wont lie it is a real roller-coaster so be prepared to be patient but with a great end result. hope it all goes well mate.

Cheers
Stuart.

Hi mate, couple of questions. You said you had surgery 1 week after Consultation? I guess you got lucky getting it that early as on average it seems people are normally waiting around 1 month from consultation to surgery? Also as you got it this quick, in terms of paying did you pay everything there and then on the day of consultation to get it this early? As I've heard fees need to be cleared like 10 days(ish) before surgery? If so I will get the money prepped for consultation on Friday.

Really wanna get it done ASAP after consultation on Friday as I'm looking into holidays with my friends for the end of August so wanna get past the bruising and vest wearing stages. Nice little website you have there to keep track of things so nice work on that mate.

Looking forward to your reply,

Regards,
K

sorry mate, I have been away. So I paid the hospital fees straight off on a debit card and had to get my blood tests done in the hospital 2 days later which goes against all the time lines in his literature...I then paid for the procedure to Karidis on a credit card to spread it out a little! I hadn't planned on having it done quite so quick but they actually had 3 dates I could choose from and all were within the month?! How did you get on, did they give you a date for your op?

That's fine I only wrote the previous message last night. I have not had my Consultation yet, I have it Friday. But I phoned up today to check a couple of things about payment, pretty much stuff I asked you, and they confirmed some things for me. Also asked what dates they had and they she said 11th and 13th of June at open, new dates they added. So after Friday I could well be booking to have it done in under 1 week for the following Thursday. All of a sudden it's hitting me that next week I may be getting it done. Can't wait.
