Hi Doctors,

Hi i am from singapore. I am seeing a doctor in singapore general hospital. Pls advise me if i have to go through bilateral subcutaneous mastectomy to remove my gynecomastia problem. today i went for my appointment and my doctor told me i have to go through this surgery to remove the tissues and flatten my chest. will it leave a permenant scar on my chest? will i be able to go to the beach with out my shirt on in future? pls advise me... Thanks alot.

It's impossible to comment on your specific situation without photos.  If you have gynecomastia, the surgery to correct it is called "subcutaneous mastectomy," so that's most likely what you need to resolve your problem.

Tks sir for ur reply... Does the surgery leave a permanent scar? Will i be able to go topless in future without scars?

Again, without seeing your condition, I can't address you specifically. Normally the scars are imperceptible.  My goal for my patients is that they are comfortable going shirtless anywhere.
