I am 8 months post op. I am going for kenalog injections this wednesday from my plastic surgeon. This will be my first injection. Was going to do it sooner but doc said to wait awhile. I am hoping this is scar tissue and not indeed residual gland, but who knows, we'll find out after the injection.

It does look like you were flatter at 5 months post-op as compared to 8 months, but it's hard to tell if this is related to body fat or more localized scar tissue.  You're not as full as pre-op at 5 months or 8 months, but if you're weight is up from pre-op, that might account for increased fullness in the chest, which isn't due to scar formation and wouldn't really respond to a Kenalog injection.

Can scar tissue increase over time? When does it usually peak? I really have not gained any wait on a side note...

In normal healing, scar decreases over time.  You should be well past the point of peak scarring.
