Gynecomastia? Puffy nipple? Chest fat?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering whether I have gynecomastia or just puffy nipples and chest fat. Does chest fat cause puffy nipples? I'd say my body fat percentage is somewhere between 15-20% not sure exactly. I've uploaded a bunch of photos on this album :

I characterize myself as skinny fat. I have very slender wrists but fat around my stomach/chest/hips. Some of the photos show me flexing my chest as much as possible and if you carefully enough you can see a sort of mass to the sides of the nipple. Not sure if thats fat or breast tissue. I don't particularly feel any lumps or things around the nipple, but If I palpate around the sides I do feel some sort of band. Not sure if that is adipose tissue/muscle/breast tissue or just made up in my head.

When I pinch my nipples, come out of the shower, or am in a cold area the nipples lose the puffiness and begin to look normal. Do you think I'll get that normal look if I just loose some more fat? I'm like 5'11 161 lbs. Also I'm 21 years old so I don't think its puberty gyno.

I am similar build to you however I carry more muscle in my chest and shoulders.

My nipples and chest looked nearly the same as you do in you're pics. I had ever since puberty and it got worse as I got older. Everything you say about getting out of the shower and pinching them to make them normal is exactly what I dealt with.

I had my surgery 5 days ago (Lipo and excision). I have had no pain from the surgery but I do have a fair bit of swelling.

When I started making enquires with the doctor about my condition, the local GP said there was nothing wrong with me. I complained that the glands hurt, and I was sent to get an ultrasound on my chest.

The results of my ultrasound showed that I had minor gynecomastia on both sides. The Doctor wouldn't refer me to a specialist.

I decided to see a surgeon myself, and pay for it all out of my pocket.

As a result of my surgery, the Surgeon removed both glands, and categorised them in the MODERATE gynecomastia range. He has sent both the glands to pathology and my surgery will now be covered by Medicare (government health) as it was a lot worse than the GP thought.

My hospital stay was also covered by my private health.

It cost me $5200 in total for the entire procedure. But I expect to get $2000 back.

Looking at your pics mate, I would say that you have moderate gyne.

Yeah, even if you were to lose more fat off your body nothing would really change with your chest. If it bothers you enough for surgery, then I think that's a good option. Good luck!
