Howdy

I have a few questions for anyone who's already had surgery with Dr. Karidis.  I am sure I could find and piece together the info from various other posts but due to the fact that my surgery is now just a week and a bit away, I guess I'm starting to flap so I thought I'd ask/beg(!) for help please.  Many thanks in advance!

So in advance of arriving at the hospital for my surgery, do I just need to do the following?
- how does one get their bloods done at the hospital?  My doctor's surgery is not playing ball so I will have to fork out the c. £150 to get it done there.  Does Dr. Karidis' team arrange an appointment for you?  I need to get on this asap
- pay Dr. Karidis' fee: can that just be done on credit card?
- pay hospital fee: is that just a quick phone call and give your card details?
- send the signed cancellation schedule parts 1 and 2 to Dr. Karidis

Did any of you have to do anything else or any other paperwork?

For post surgery, how many compression vests do they give you?  Is it literally just the one you are put in after surgery?  What's the best place to buy a second one from so you can wash them?

Is there anything else I need to be doing/buying/planning for in the next week?

Cheers guys :)

Well, today's the day. I'm here 25 mins early as the ward doesn't open until 7am. At least I'm not panicking about being late!! I was literally the 2nd person on the platform at Clapham Common this morning - quite surreal. I'm not normally there until gone 9.

Couldn't really sleep that well. Had 5 alarms set from 5.20 onwards but didn't need any of them. Nerves? Excitement? Both I guess.

I shaved my armpits and torso a couple of nights ago so there's no sticky plaster removal pain and without all my hair I can really see the true horror of what I want Dr. Karidis to fix, so I'm pumped to be here and finally doing it... finally sorting out what I should have done years ago when my previous surgeon didn't really do the job properly.  More updates in a bit :)

Just chatted to Tanya, the lovely hospital nurse who's looking after me today. She said I had 8 somethings of gland removed from the left and 7 from the right.  As Dr. Karidis had said to me, my work was more of a sculpt than massive removal job.

All done! Great stuff!

It's all so surreal when you're waiting around.. the build up and then the next thing it's over..

I love the forum posts as well, people going from Deciding>Consultation>Booking>Pre-op nerves>Surgery Day>POST-OP!

Goodluck on your recovery

Hey buddy!

I take it everything went well??? How does it feel? And how does it feel to be on the other side as everyone explains it?? Lol

Mine went well, got there for 10 but had to wait till 2 for surgery which seemed to take forever man!!! I was surprisingly calm throughout the whole day, really surprised myself lol

Cheers for the replies.  Will upload a few photos in a min, although I haven't yet taken off the garments - will uploads those pics after a shower tomorrow.

Yes, I am so happy ThinkingAboutIt!  It feels a bit sore... well, only really the abs and flanks region.  They are way more painful than the chest, AND I've had my nips lopped off (that's actually what I am most interested to see during the big reveal tomorrow).  I am also mega-oozing from the abs and flanks, and none on the chest.  I'm just downsizing some photos and will then post them with a brief explanation of each - it will make more sense than me just rattling on here :)

How you doing? :)

OK so here's a reminder of the old slightly out of shape, slightly mooby with big horrid nipples me (remember I've already had lipo 9 years ago hence why I don't seem as breasty as some guys here)...

Here's a pic of me 2 nights ago after i'd shaved all of the hair off my torso and armpits.  I didn't want any painful sticky plaster moments, and I also wanted Dr. Karidis to see the full horror of what he had to fix :)

I mean LOOK at those effing nipples!

Post op and the oozing begins (from the abs and flanks region though, not the chest).

I am massively padded up under the armpit and on the chest... I've had more lipo to the chest, gland removal (albeit rather small) and my nipples trimmed to be flush with the body.

The abs and flanks velcro belt is kind of half under my compression vest, and half not, and goes down to about the top of my pubic hair.  It is covered here by the paper knickers but you can see the blood underneath.

And as expected, the bloody oozing gets worse before it gets better...
