Surgery isn't always perfect, no one ever said it was.

I'm really interested to know if anyone on this site has:

1) had Gynecomastia surgery ?

2)Has gotten revision, or touch up, surgery done ?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I had my first surgery back in October 2012 and just had my revision last Wednesday (May 2013). You can actually read about my experiences thus far in another series of posts I have made in this section of the forum. Still healing now so the situation is fluid. Pun intended.

Like you said, surgery isn't always perfect. My first one surely wasn't! But it seems to me that many doctors like to err on the side of caution when doing this surgery...in other words, it's better to initially take out too little (and be able to revise their work later) than too much. We have all seen what "too much" looks like and we all have read how hard that can be to fix.

I guess it just comes down to finding a surgeon who knows what they are doing first and foremost and who is willing to revise their work should the patient be not fully satisfied and should the revision be warranted in the first place.
