I had gyno surgery on Thursday (inscision and lipo) and had drains put in to drain out the fluids left in my chest. When i went to the post op appointment they said they were going to take them of Wednesday or untill it drains less than 30cc of fluid. Its Sunday now and Ii only been draining 10-20 ml. Im thinking of waiting until Wednesday to make sure no fluid stays behind. Or should i let them know. I dont want any complications if i take the drains out, everything has been going smoothly. But i heard drains can also get infected if left for a long time

You should contact your surgeon in the morning.  He may be able to remove the drains sooner, since it sounds like they've served their purpose and the drainage is less than the daily prescribed amount.
