I got gyno when i was 13, went to a pool party, everyone chanted man boobs.  Ever since then I've worn 2 shirts every time i go out somewhere.i finally accepted it in my later teens since it wasn't that bad, my nipples stuck out of my shirt but due to body building and packing on muscle it just didn't look that bad. I started taking anti depressants 2 years ago and i took one called zoloft and when i stopped taking it i developed bad gyno on my right nipple, it was sore for 2 months and i developed a big ball there, now i can't be happy with how it is, i was wondering how this drug could of caused this? It effects serotonin levels, so what's the connection between serotonin and gyno?

My best answer is: "I do not know."

I am not trying to be funny. I have not heard of a problem with this particular drug, but that might be simply because I am not as well informed as I might like to think.

Some drugs list Gynecomastia as a possible side effect but others try to evade the issue by admitting only to breast tenderness or breast swelling. If it was only tenderness or swelling, it would go away when the drug is withdrawn. I am thinking of Finasteride aka Propecia as an example. The maker of it will not admit that it causes Gynecomastia but they claim it causes tenderness or swelling. Trust me, it does cause Gynecomastia in a small number of men.

You can easily look up the side effects of any drug online. Just read carefully in case they are being less than candid.
