How to pay for surgery?

I am only 19 and want to get surgery for my gyno.

I was wondering, how are you guys able to pay for such a expensive procedure?

Do people get loans? Are there financial plans you can do with the surgeon?

I wouldn't mind paying 200-300 bucks a month for it

Some doctors offer financing options in the US through CareCredit if you don't have the full amount in cash.
Care Credit offers interest free financing for a period of time (i don't know the exact details on that, but you can check out the care credit website).

My office does offer Care Credit -- it is a way that a person can take a loan for medical reasons, and the interest rates are lower than the standard 18-22% that credit cards charge.  But there is interest charged and one must have a positive credit history in order to qualify.

There is a period of time when there is no interest charged -- if one can pay back the loan in full by that time.  Check out Care Credit for details.

When you call for a consultation appointment with a plastic surgeon, you should inquire if they participate with Care Credit or any other patient financing companies.

Or you go to the Care Credit website and put your doctor's name in on the 'Provider locator' tab.

CareCredit used by thousands of medical (and veterinary) care facilities, not just plastic surgeons. It is essentially a credit card company run out of the GE Financial conglomerate. The only difference is it's just for medical (and vet) costs.

Even if they aren't on there, I'd call your doctor to be sure.

At 19, your biggest hurdle may be having a long enough credit record established to get the amount you need.
