So I've went to 2 doctors for consultations: (Location: Northern Virginia)

Dr. Saeed Marefat
Dr. Richard Franklin

Dr. Marefat says that he will remove the fat and glandular tissue with Lipo and excision. He will make 1 incision on each side under the armpit for Lipo and 1 incisions under the Areola for excision.

Dr. Richards says he will remove the fat and glandular tissue with Smart Lipo only. He will make 1 incision on each side for Lipo and glandular removal. When I asked if he ever used Lipo with excision, he chuckled and said he's never heard of such a thing? ??? He claims that the laser is powerful enough to break down the gland to be suctioned out.

I've asked references from both doctors. All were satisfied with the results.

Dr. Marefat's reference had his procedure at the same as age as me and very similar size of Gynecomastia. This was done in September of last year.

Dr. Richards provided 2 references. The first guy only had fat and needed Lipo so it wasn't a very good comparison. The second guy had some fat and glandular tissue. The second guy claimed that everything was removed using Smart Lipo only and his procedure was done in May of last year.

I've been doing some reading on this forum and other research and have found that 90% of PS claim that glandular tissue can only be removed by excision.

I am at a lost for who to go with. Is there a lipo laser that can actually break down glandular tissue?

Thanks.

In my experience direct excision is required to remove the glandular component in the vast majority of cases.

Lasers, at best, can remove fat -- they do not remove gland (breast) tissue.
