Nice! our stories are like twin stories haha...

this vest is the worst it makes me feel sick. I'm not sure if I have any swelling or not but I'm loving the way my chest looks even with all the nasty bruises and discolouration.

Thanks guys.

I just took my vest off for the second time tonight and everything still looks really good.  Today would have been day 8 post op.  A lot more pain though, probably the most so far.  In the morning everything feels fine but closer to the end of the day the pain picks up.  Its an achy type of pain and it's coming from were my stitches are mainly.  From the reading I did before I think this is the real hump for swelling, that is days 7-10, and that would explain the pain around the stitches.  I think it only gets better from here.

I discovered where most of my discomfort was coming from...the sutures over the last week had become gluey and sticky and they were catching on the compression vest.   What a pain, I wish I'd discovered this earlier.  So I removed the sutures on the sides but the ones around the areola are really on there really good so I left them.  What I did was buy some XL bandaids and put them over the sutures.  I put some polysporin on for good measure too.

Any wound that is covered up and NOT left to air dry should heal with the least amount of scar tissue.  I have always found polysporin to work really good so why not post-op.  It speeds healing and provides protection against infection.  Also it creates a moist environment, the best case scenario for reduced scar tissue.  Dr. Fielding suggests it somewhere in his post-op instruction too.

This is my post-op setup

P.S.  For those big bandages, take some alcohol and disinfect an area on your thigh or wherever.  Undo the bandage and stick it on the disinfected area and then rip it off, do it twice.  Then apply the polysporin and apply it to your chest.  Please learn from my mistakes, those bandages stick a little too well off the bat, especially around a nipple that has just been cut open.  You'll still have enough stick to get the job done, and besides the bandage will be pancaked in there with the compression vest.

Haha thanks.

At this point the only way it would come back is if you where on the wrong kind of hormone therapy or you were taking anabolic steroids.

Hey!

How long do you think you'll keep the vest on?

Dr. Fielding told me at my post op two weeks ago that I could take it off today (the 19th)...I've had it off all day and fel great but im paranoid haha

Ya if everything looks good then take it off.  He even told me not to wait at week three and lift some lighter weights.

As for me, my left side is still swollen a bit so I think I'll keep it on for a day or two more.  I think I overexerted myself over the last week, not thrilled about the swelling but it is minor, just got to wait it out I guess

Looks great!

My left side is also bothering me a bit, nothing SERIOUS but I think i have the dreaded "lines/slight crater" formation but I have a feeling it will go away and even if it doesn't, my chest is still 100012901091201910299109% better than it was presurgery and we are only at week 3.

6 months post-op!  Overall I am still very happy I went ahead with this procedure.  I did have some left side swelling that I talked to Dr. Fielding about.  Supposedly, this can persist for up to 12 months and is usually associated with the left side.  Probably because of how the lymphatics system is set up; the left side of the lymphatics is much smaller than the right.  Little to no pain and I have sensation everywhere.  The incision marks are minor and hard to see.

If your suffering from gynecomastia, for your sake, drop the stigma and discover what your options are.  I was satisfied with Dr. Fielding's work.
