Thanks for sharing. Your case is very common. Unfortunately many parents will say what your folks said. And often it is backed up by the pediatrician who will pat you on the shoulder to reassure you that it will disappear (usually by the magical age of 18, when your entire life and physical body changes "overnight").
Neither your folks nor the pediatrician is aware of the constant embarrassment that this causes and the adaptions that guys make to deal with the problem, including refraining from swimming, athletics and even social situations.
I wish you luck -- one day you will deal with your problem. Just be sure to go to the right surgical specialist.
