FYI:  I have a separate thread titled "I finally did it..." for those that would like to read about my updates and progress.

I am currently (only) 10 days post-op and these last 3 days I have noticed very firm areas under the skin.  It is more noticeable in the area above the lip incision and below the armpit but is also located in spotty areas throughout my chest.  Could someone please let me know what this might be and what I can be doing to minimize it?

Thanks

It is common to have "induration" following liposuction--basically swelling of the treated tissue, which can be irregular with resultant bumps and firm spots.  This will resolve in time, and I usually recommend massage to my patients to help break up scar tissue and to help with resolution of swelling. If there are discreet areas that are tender and large, you might have a small seroma, which might require aspiration.  Your surgeon can check these when you have an appointment.
