Why does my areoa contract and raise along with the nipple when the nipple is stimulated forming a cone shape?  Is it the major ducts under the nipple that have enlarged?  The areola / nipple does not form a cone shape when relaxed, only when stimulated.  My understanding is that "puffy nipples" is the opposite where the cone shape forms when relaxed and goes away when the nipple is stimulated.

This is not a normal protrusion.  From my research it appears that there is gland within the ducts that lie directly behind the nipple

You should realize that this is perfectly normal.

The cells that cause it are basically piloerection cells.  It is absolutely 100% normal in all men and women and has nothing to do with anything than skin deep.
