Is it possible to leave alone after surgery?

I am a 19-year-old and my surgery is in a few weeks. I never told my parents (or anyone) about this. The recommendation is to have someone to escort you. I was wondering if I could walk to the metro station and go home on my own. Is this very dangerous?

My surgery is tommorow and I have to atleast get picked up by somebody, my clinic insists because I think they might fear lawsuits if something were to happen to somebody who went home alone.

The one who picks me up won't be told what I'm in for. Your surgeon's office should have the same level of privacy, I recommend having somebody pick you up with a car, or otherwise walk with you to the station together. Might be awkward but hey.

You will be given sedatives and/or anesthetics.  You will be in no condition to go home alone.

I just got back from the hospital and trust me, you're gonna need somebody to pick you up if you had full anesthetic like I had. I am a pretty strong and healthy guy at age 25, I did only need an hour after waking up to get to my feet but it was tough and I'm still woozy.
You're a teenager and I don't know how long that walk is to the station. But imo you should get somebody to pick you up by car.
