Opinions on post-surgery results

I had the surgery yesterday and just had to snap some pictures before I took my first shower. Gland removal and liposuction, was a relatively mild case but he drew on large portions of my chest so I think he wanted to remove as much as he could, just like I asked.
There is a lot of swelling, however it looks very flat so I think my surgeon has done a great job...too early to tell of course but this is good for my morale. Doctors do you think this looks good 30 hours post surgery?

It looks good now -- which is a good sign.  But you have roughly 6 months of healing ahead of yhou.

Be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions, be patient, don't study yourself in the mirror every hour (there will undoubtedly be things that you see one day and which disappear the next day) and did I say be patient?

Hey thanks doc. So with your expertise you can say that it looks good for a 1-day post surgery? Yes I am definitely gonna be patient and I will update the pictures regularly as I go along. I only check it out once a day when I remove my garment to shower.

One thing that I always see you and others say is that if it looks good and flat early on after the surgery then it's pretty much a success. And that if later on it somehow looks worse again it would be scar tissue most likely, correct?

I'm just stoked because when I first saw it I really thought it's a huge change visible already..

You are correct.

In general, if your chest has good, symmetric contours, taut skin and flat nipples without evidence of any crater, that is a very good indication that things will end up well.

The development of scar tissue is the 900 lb gorilla, though.  There is no way to predict or prevent it from occurring, And not every patient develops objectionable scar tissue.  But if it does occur, then IMHO, the best treatment is cortisone (usually Kenalog) and not further surgery to try to cut out the scar tissue.

Great news -- hope it all turns out well and that you will now join all the guys "on the other side."  And, if possible, stay with us on this forum even long after you are healed -- it will serve as an inspiration to others.

Yes, if I am a success story I will stick around and try to help. I've come long enough, I joined this site about 3 years ago which is when I first started researching this surgery seriously. I've also made many threads in this section and you were one of the people who always answered my questions so I am grateful for that.

Here's a picture of my nipples 15 days post op. My right side looks better maybe because there was a bit less removed there, also I feel a hard knot on the left side now for a week and more swelling. Scar tissue?

The incisions are clear to see there but in most lightings it is not really noticeable that I had surgery. Good sign I hope.

So far so good. But it is way too early to be worrying. Relax and follow your surgeon's instructions. It take about three months to see the final results.

Thanks doctor and while I have you here, I've been wearing my garment for 3 weeks now and it is not as tight as before, is this a problem? Just not sure if it's worth the trip to the surgeon's office.

Probably not a problem. I only have my patients wear it for three weeks anyway.
