Nightmare stories of nurses giving potent drugs meant for one patient to another and surgeons removing the wrong body parts  have dominated recent headlines about medical care. Lest you assume those cases are the exceptions, a new study by patient safety researchers provides some context.

There are risks with pretty much every activity in life, including crossing a busy street.  I think one can take fear or trepidation to an extreme.  You have to look at the risk vs benefit ratio. If the risk of surgical complication is high (variables include health of the patient, experience of the surgeon, difficulty of the procedure), then you may want to consider not having the surgery.  An 80 year old man with hypertension and diabetes looking at having a heart valve replaced may want to think twice before signing up.  A healthy man at pretty much any age is at low risk for complications with gynecomastia surgery.
If your gynecomastia really bothers you, consult a board certified plastic surgeon with experience with this procedure.  It's not that big a deal.

Some opinions are best kept to ourselves.  Tiger Paws, I had to lock this topic.  The next step would be to ban you from the site.
