I'm keen to get surgery. This has stopped me from going to the gym due to working out only making it poke out more. I went to see a gyne specialist (surgeon as well). He said my right side has a walnut sized gyno lump and the other is just pseudo. Anyways my chest looks very different in my opinion from when it is warm and then cold. I plan on getting it done in London by a surgery practice that supposively spend a lot of time/care on operations. Also for an extra £500 I can get an areola reduction of which I'm keen to get.

The surgeon i saw said 1/3 cases he see's they turn away... he said i was more of a minor case but otherwise a good candidate. I know this is down to me... but I would just like to know if you guys in my position would get it done. The thing is no matter how much i hit the gym people will always look straight at my dodgy chest in warm weather... and in bed with a girl... i will look crap (that's when it is most noticeable due to warmth of course).

My question:
Do you think I'm a case where surgery would be a good idea?

Need more pictures from different angles to be honest
No offense but from that picture it may be those "dodgy" looks are all in your head, unless it is a misleading picture I don't see much gyno at all.
My gyno was MUCH worse and I was able to conceal it pretty well wearing the right t-shirts that I didn't really get many "dodgy" looks.

It isn't the gyno really that is making me want surgery. It's the large puffy nipples. In the UK a good practice I've visited for £4500 can remove the gland/fat and perform a areola reduction.

Ahh OK. If it bothers you that much go for it. It is worth the peace of mind.

It has been stated here, by a doctor, that about 10% are not satisfied after surgery, and that may include a number of redos.  That can include guys who regret ever having surgery afterwards.  Satisfaction is not terribly related to breast size before surgery.  My father was almost killed by minor elective surgery.  Considering my size, I have never seen "after" pictures which I would have been satisfied with.  Good luck.  If you are throwing your life away because of uncontrollable fear and shame.  1% of men with gynecomastia in their lifetime, have surgery.  99% of the 50% to 70% of men (75,000,000 to 100,000,000 men in the USA) with gynecomastia never get surgery.  .01% to 0.02% of men with gynecomastia get surgery each year.  I just had liver damage from an antibiotic given for oral surgery.  It might kill me yet.  There are not a lot of redos with that kind of damage.

With the place I'm going to they haven't had someone complain yet. They use very small choobs and spend 3-4 hours on each gyno case. Also if you don't like it you can have another operation to fix it for free. This is in London btw.

Hey!
I looked almost exactly like you, got the surgery one month ago. 100% worth it.

One thing I noticed here on this forum - the more in shape and athletic you are, the better results you get and the quicker your recovery will be. I can confirm this. You will be fine.

Don't worry about scars, they are almost invisible if done properly by a qualified surgeon :)

Doctors may chime in soon but I doubt you'd need areola reduction as they tend to reduce after gland removal.  You should go straight to an experienced Dr who does these surgeries often to get your opinion.  My doctor does several per day in his practice (but in another country).

There are risks, as with any surgery which will be explained to you of course.  My gyn was quite extreme and affected many parts of my life/behavior, and I wish I'd done the surgery at least 8 years earlier!  Now I'm 15 weeks post op and extremely happy, wearing tight shirts without concern as before.

You may be best to have extremely light lipo if any, but again you need experienced surgeon advice.  That approach with light lipo may assist you to avoid some complications that a few people seem to have.  But I'm not certain of the implications of not having lipo.

The people that seem to be happiest with their surgeries are those with more extreme cases, because they're not chasing perfection, just a vast improvement.  Everyone's different, and no one can say for sure you will/won't have problems.  You'll need to weigh that up for yourself, but an experienced surgeon who specializes in this type of surgery may be best, as you elude to.

that's the thing... the aerola reduction I'm not sure about. They can remove everything via doing incisions under the chest... so that would mean no scars around the nipple etc... but I'd hate to have it flattened out and i still these big feminine looking areolas. And they would throw that surgery in for only an extra £500... but they would have to use the method of making an incision around the areola likes most gyno operations.

You're a very lean guy - very little body fat.  You only have one frontal view posted, but in that photo you appear to have a fair amount of gland tissue (at least on your right), with classic puffy nipple appearance.  As someone posted earlier, your areolar diameter should diminish after the gland is removed.  I wouldn't go for an areolar reduction unless 6 months after gland removal (and lipo) you still have a larger diameter.  Chances are you won't.
Best of luck-

Thanks a lot for the reply!
The specialist in my area confirmed my right side has a walnut sized gyno. But both sides have the puffy nipples. And i think you are right i will have the operation with it (meaning with the place I'm going to they can use this pull through technique which means no scaring by the nipple.

You said you are worried that a girl will think your chest will look like crap if you have her in bed.  If that is what she is thinking about when you are getting busy with her, you are definitely doing something very wrong.  I have been naked with several women under those circumstances and never once did they say anything about my chest.  Just forget about your chest and pay a lot of attention to her chest and you will both be much happier.

I don't have a partner. It has stopped me from going to the gym because gaining muscle just makes it look worse. It has been bothered me every day for years. It's worth the investment for me i think.
