Hi,
I had gyno when I was around 13-14. I had a lump on my left nipple and it was tender, but it went away after while.

Fast forward 6 years, my nipples have become really puffy but there is no lump nor is it tender. As I previously had gyno, I know what to look for when feeling for a lump. I began to notice it when I started going to the gym and putting on a lot of weight. I went from 135 to 170 lbs in 12 months. I'm still in a fairly healthy weight range, I am not fat, it's just that I was previously very skinny. I'm currently 5'8", 165 lbs, 18% body fat.

What could've caused my nipples to be so puffy? I have never taken steroids nor do I take any medication. If it's pseudo gyno how come there are people who have much more body fat yet they don't have puffy nips? My dad is much fatter than me yet he looks fine, so I don't think it's genetics.

This is not me but it's really close to what mine looks like (with less muscle):

Most of the time there is no "cause" its more or less random who gets it and there is no medical issue associated with it, in your teens there are a lot of hormonal changes happening in your body.
The distribution of fat around your body is pretty much genetic some put it on on their stomach first, some on the hips others on their chest again just luck/DNA. Also genetics dont transfer perfectly like that so a comparison to your father might not be very usefull.

In most cases, the cause is unknown.

I concur with Nonini and Paa_Paw.  Your genetics are going to determine most of your physical attributes.  We have no problem accepting that you look like your parents; we also have illness and disease that are genetically based.  Most gynecomastia is idiopathic, that is the medical term for “of unknown origin”.  A biology professor in college liked to joke that it meant, “You were an idiot because you couldn’t figure out the cause.”  His other line was, “You are on an idiot’s path trying to find the cause.”  Everyone in the class remembered what idiopathic meant after that.

Is it still gyno if there is no lump nor is there ANY pain when pressing/feeling my nipples? I'll probably post some pics later on.
I've already lost 6 pounds since I started this thread. I'll lose 4-5 more and see if it makes any difference.

There is no doubt that you have gynecomastia.  The rest of your torso appears slender.

The  only treatment for you that is legit and which works is surgery, which can target the excess tissues and physically remove them.  Best to look for a gyne specialist in your area or consider traveling for such expertise.

Good luck.
