Adding your own avatar

I was wondering how you might add your own photo as an avatar here on this site. It's my understanding that you need to provide the link to an avatar on another site to insert it here.
I have tried that's using my avatars on another site and I get a message telling me "the image is not an avatar or is too big".
If I download that avatar image it's just a thumbnail, so I don't see it as being too big?

Has anyone else has luck with their own image, and how?

I know how to do it,  but I don't know how to explain it 🙄. I know I sized mine about 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 jnches but here it stretched it as you can see. Once you have the size then yes you have to host it somewhere like https://freeimage.host/ I have mine there.they show you all the way to link the photo.

Hopefully someone knows of a better way.

I'll do a photo op really nice on Monday to post as my avatar. 

Wig is on its way, need a sexy outfit from Torrid, and I'll have to do my face of course. 💞
