Was following the comments by WPW17 and JD1, in which it was said :

So, "supposedly" and "if true" means that the posting about Wally Simpson was / is nothing more than rumor mongering.  IMO, neither of those rumors has anything to do with gynecomastia, intersex, or anything else on this website. Which is the point I was making with my comment. 

#1: Making a point regarding unfounded rumors about people and things which have no real bearing on our experience with gynecomastia says nothing about politics - mine nor anyone else's.
#2: So ... take your hypersensitive, way off base, bigotry somewhere other than "here".

I think we should also look at it from the context of the mid 1930s. While I am no expert on British history, I have studied some of it and I will gladly defer to our British friends for corrections or additions, but there were many damning rumors placed in the public to slander and degrade her character to force public opinion to be such that Edward VIII could not marry her in the public eye. Were any true? Some probably were.  Some probably weren't. Was this one? I don't know and most don't either. I don't believe the source of the rumor is known either. And during this time anything other than a typical heterosexual relationship was illegal in Britain (see Alan Turing) and that mindset was weaponized to try and stop this union. Mrs Simpson was not liked in many British circles for lots of reasons least of which a twice American divorcee. The upper British Class hatred towards her was palpable.

Not too far afield as I was thinking and reading about intersex people. Birdie makes many salient points re this situation. I especially like how his /her presentation of the ‘estrogen highway’ has affected all of us. Albeit, in many different ways. Genetically, environmentally, and pharmacologically. Our different expressions seem to have the same results. The reason for my remarks was that I had never heard this aspect of the situation before despite historical readings and other studies.
I was unaware of the intersex aspect of life in its magnitude. That is until this forum and Birdie. Thanks to all that have expanded my horizons.

Interesting that you came up with this. I found a long article in the British "Mail Online" on the subject. Yet I don't like the article, which is based on a biography by Anne Sebba, at all. Both persons are dead and nobody should make capital out of rumors and nonproven speculations.
