First time is always the hardest. We have been brought up that bras and breasts are sole domain of women. But our chests say something completely different. And fitters with any length of time have served their share of men. Those needing a bra for what it's made for and men who like female undergarments. As much as we might believe we are the first, reality is we are one of many and good fitters know when it's time for support, male or female. And the good ones wouldn't treat you any different than a female customer. If they do, take your business elsewhere. They're there to serve you, not the other way around.
I volunteer at Torrid every weekend helping out organizing the shelves. They even issued me my own Torrid measuring tape.
Torrid prides themselves on being inclusive, and they will provide service to anyone. From men that need bras, to men that just want bras but don't need one. They will measure and find a bra with matching panties for anyone that wants one. While you are in the store they will help you find other outfits that will fit.
Men with a larger chest will find that men's shirts don't fit very well, and if you happen to have the wide hips you will find the t-shirts might ride up if they are not a woman's cut. The sales attendants will be very helpful in finding you something to fit your needs.
Some of the tricks to know at Torrid are to buy something very cheap when you first enter the store, then take the survey on the bottom of the receipt immediately. The code they give you with the survey will get you 10% off of your purchase. Then you can fill your basket with the 10% off to the hilt.
Another trick is to have everything shipped to the store because picking up in the store gives you an additional 10% off (you are now at 20%). Signing up as a customer in their computer system gives you Rewards off of your points, and a birthday reward every year. Plus all the rewards and discounts can be stacked. For example they might have a sale with 30% off, plus your 20%, plus however many rewards you have. I just recently bought a $50 bra for $14.
Come in and see us at Torrid we will be happy to take care of you!
