Some of us are assigned male at birth but fall under the intersex category.

Interesting enough there is a measuring tool commonly used to determine if a child is intersex or "normal". Using this tool many people with micro penises would be considered to be intersex under the intersex umbrella. (See attached image)

Attached is a video of Androgen insensitivity, complete Androgen insensitivity. Just one form of intersex under the intersex umbrella. It is a video worth watching.

“INTERSEX” is an umbrella term referring to individuals born with sex characteristics that are not typically male or female or are a blend of both.

INTERSEX PEOPLE have existed as long as all humans, as intersex status, like typical male and female status, is defined by natural, congenital sex characteristics.

There are an estimated 30 types of intersex traits, i.e. variations in sex characteristics, comprising variations in chromosomal patterns, reproductive organs, genitalia and/or hormones.

USAGE:
* INTERSEX is not a noun or thing, it refers to living beings: i.e. “INTERSEX PEOPLE,” “intersex cats,” etc…
* INTERSEX is an adjective, like the term “gay.”
* It is incorrect to say that someone is “an intersex.”
* Use “intersex woman,” “intersex person,” “intersex activist,” etceteras, or, in plural: “intersex people,” “intersex individuals,” “intersex citizens, “intersex orgs,” etceteras.

DIFFERENT INTERSEX VARIATIONS
Intersex people’s bodies can look male, female, or visibly in between (aka androgynous) depending on the intersex variation they are born with. Below is a brief description of the most common ones.

5-alpha reductase deficiency (5-ARD):
5-ARD causes changes in testosterone metabolism that lead to genital differences. People with 5-ARD have XY chromosomes and testes but may have an atypical penis, vulva, or unidentifiable genitals at birth.

Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS):
AIS causes a complete or partial insensitivity to androgens, or male sex hormones. People with AIS have XY chromosomes and testes, but depending on the level of insensitivity, they may have differing variations in external sex characteristics.

Clitoromegaly and micropenis:
Clitoromegaly is characterized by a clitoris that’s larger than typical. Micropenis is characterized by a penis that’s smaller than typical. Both conditions are usually associated with other types of intersex variations.

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH):
CAH causes differences in hormone production, including cortisol, aldosterone, and androgens. It’s more common for XX individuals with CAH to experience changes in sex characteristics than XY individuals with the condition.

Gonadal dysgenesis:
Gonadal dysgenesis causes variations in the development of the testes and ovaries before birth. People with complete gonadal dysgenesis don’t have developed testicles or ovaries, which can affect or prevent puberty. People with partial gonadal dysgenesis have chromosomal changes that often lead to internal and external sex differences.

Klinefelter syndrome:
Klinefelter syndrome is characterized by an extra X chromosome. People with this variation have a 47XXY chromosomal pattern instead of 46XY, which can cause underdeveloped testes, lower testosterone, and some female characteristics.

Ovotestes:
Ovotesticular DSD causes someone to have both ovarian tissue and testicular tissue, usually due to chromosomal variations. People with this variation may have different reproductive and sex organs and can experience atypical changes in puberty.

Turner syndrome:
Turner syndrome is characterized by a 45X chromosome pattern. People with this variation often have distinct physical features and can experience changes in their reproductive organs, sex hormones, and other sex characteristics.

Education is key!

The social worker here at the apartment complex was apparently under the impression that I am on HRT and trans.
There were several things that she had no idea about, being;

The existence of gynecomastia

The frequency of intersex (1/1500)

As well as the numerous variations of intersex.

It was just assumed by her if a male individual had breasts and/or female traits that they must be taking HRT. She also wrongly assumed that they must be trans. We are talking about an individual with a college degree!

I am under the impression because of absolute literal interpretations of biblical texts, and the past history of adherence to religions, subjects like these have been taboo for way too long. It has created a vacuum of intelligent conversations about the subject matter. Intersex individuals Have Always Been Told that they are deformed and to hide it at all cost. That they will be looked down upon if people know their secret. Gynecomastia is also frequently hidden and rarely talked about in public. Strange because over half of men over 50 have some degree of it. It's extremely common.

"Sex ed" is taught in almost every school across the globe now, yet these subjects never come up either. Even the far left that wants to be "inclusive" and leave no one behind only vaguely talks about intersex and never talks about gynecomastia.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being trans, but it seems they get all the spotlight.

I kindly informed her that I do not take HRT, I have not had any surgeries, and this is the all natural me. I Was Born This Way!
How I "present" myself is a different story, since I feel more female than male I present myself as female. It is what most people assume I am anyway.
Whether or not that makes me transsexual or not is something to be debated. But HRT and surgeries have nothing to do with it.

We really need to fix our educational system.

You are correct in that its ignorance that drives what is being done today.  I wish more mainstream media along with "talk shows" and the like would help educate and bring this and the other body none norm issues into the mainstream.  People like you and men like me and many here aren't that uncommon.   Sometimes things just don't have to be that complicated.

On another note I did just order a couple new bras as I felt there may be a price hike.  Just want to keep my chest happy.

The essence of fundamentalism is that it doesn't want to look at facts that call into question the orthodoxy espoused, whether it be religious or political. Folks who use the bible to answer all their questions will not find comfort in the possibility the earth is over 6,000 years old... which makes looking at the geological record uncomfortable.  When the subject turns to sex the level of discomfort escalates tremendously.  God created man and woman... that's two, so there's nothing to talk about here... right?

At the moment acceptance of differences is a sign of apostasy.  We learned a great deal about such a world when the archives were opened after the fall of Communism in East Germany.  If you weren't careful, your neighbor would report your behavior and someone would come knocking on your door.

I've always been a supporter Birdie.  I respect how committed you are to being an advocate for yourself.  Hope you find a home where simply being you won't require such effort.  Life is challenging enough.  We really don't need to contend with prejudices of thugs.
