Hand washing a bra can be a delicate process, but with the right steps, you can keep your bras clean and extend their lifespan. They are not cheap!

Hand Washing
1. Fill a sink or basin with warm water. The water should be cool enough to touch comfortably.
2. Add a small amount of mild soap (I use just a dab of Palmolive but not enough to suds much), you can use a lingerie wash or a soap specifically designed for washing delicate items.
3. Submerge the bra in the soapy water and let it soak for about 15-20 minutes.
4. Gently agitate the bra to work the soap into the fabric.
5. Rinse the bra under running water to remove all soap residue.

Drying
1. Use a clean towel to gently squeeze out excess water from the bra.
2. Reshape the bra to its original form, making sure the cups are facing upwards.
3. Lay the bra flat on a clean towel, allowing it to air dry away from direct sunlight and heat or you can hang the bras from it's gore (centre piece of fabric between the cups) off a hanger.

Tips
1. Hot water can cause the bra's elastic to stretch or lose its shape.
2. Avoid wringing or twisting the bra, as this can cause damage to the fabric or underwires.
3. Unless the care label specifically recommends dry cleaning, it's best to avoid this method, as it can damage the bra's fabric and components.
4. Regular hand washing can help extend the lifespan of your bra by preventing the buildup of dirt and oils.

By following these steps, you can keep your bras clean and well-maintained, ensuring they continue to provide comfort and support.

Excellent advice Justagirl, I highly recommend using a product called "Soak" which is specifically designed to wash lingerie.  Very easy to use and no rinsing required. The dirty water left afterwards demonstrates its effectiveness.  It is also important to rest your bras between wears to allow the elastic to recover.

I also use "Soak". I was given a bottle of it from Zoe and Company, a boutique wear I used to purchase most of my bras. My wife or I hand wash our bras and air dry them on a hanger. I have some bras that are over 3 years old that are still in the rotation.
