Ah, yes , a Wacoal underwire. It is my favorite at 44D I do become fairly judicious when anticipating a social interaction and will don a pullover sans hardware.
The Wacoal leaves little to speculate about. Even with a good fabric & shirt to camouflage them.

Welcome to the wonderful wide whimsical world of being a man who doesn’t just wear a bra but needs a bra lol. It can be an adjustment for sure at first but as you noted after a few days it’s clear going braless is difficult.

I’m a believer that as we wear a bra, it protects our breasts from the elements. Fabrics, weather, mobility, etc. having our breasts is like having our hands in our pockets. If we put our hands in gloves or pockets for awhile our hands feel softer, relaxed, warm etc and then when taking them out or off, and are immediately acknowledged to the temperature shift or elements as we use them in exposed fashion again. Same with breasts. As we protect them, the more blood flow is brought to them by being in the cups, more warmth provided to them by the bra, more protection from elements to areolas and nipples and more shaped by the bra. Which in turn make our breasts when we take the bra off. Appear more feminine in shape and contour due to being molded for time of wearing, areolas and nipples appear puffier, and so forth.

Just my theory.

Agreed, when I remove my bra at bed time my breasts are noticeably more defined and my nipples are larger. I  think there's also some enlargement from fluid retention too. Over time it is hypothesised that tissue migration from swooping and swooping tissue into the cups leads to long term enlargement.  I do think this has happened to me.

I have done a fair amount of reading on tissue migration.  It is a thing.  Tissue migrating to the back form poorly fitting bras to not wearing all together.  I have found to keep my breast looking their best, feeling their best, I'm best off wearing a properly fitting  underwire.  I can and do at times go without but as stated much prefer wearing.  And most of mine are 40C, a couple 38D or 40D depending on style or company's variance in styles.

An underwire is definitely better at keeping breast tissue in the cups but you must ensure it sits directly in the breast fold.
