Of people that keep thier gyno into their adult life (Im talking about gland gyno, not fat gyno).... what do you think the percentages are of it being caused by marijuana, steroids, or just a natural cause?

soccerplaya....

I first noticed my Gynecomastia when I was about 10 years old. Had it till I was 41.  :o

I don't know the percentages of the differtent causes, however, I can tell you that I have smoked weed but that was well after the onset of my Gyne. Never have and never will, uless medically necessary, take steroids. A natural cause? Oh, most likely. I had pubescent onset. Most likely due to incorrect hormone levels.

Taking a wild guess tho.... I would say that the percentage of Gyne occurring naturally would be much higher than that of a self-inflicted cause.

Natural cause would be my vote.  Dad has it, two nephews have it and of course me.  None of us is overweight and it's in the nips for all of us.

I've never taken roids, weed, or drugs of any kind.

I would keep the gyno if I was 41.

For me, Gyne at 41 was just as psychologically painful as it was when I was 18. The pain never goes away Dude....   :-/

John,

I agree.  The pain is very real no matter what the age.  We don't stop living once we reach 40.  I turn 47 next month and I'm finally having it addressed.

Gynecomastia is common in puberty.  It is also common in old age.  With about 2/3 of all adult male being affected.

So having gynecomastia is statistically "Normal".

It is all a matter of degree.  A lot depends upon the adapability of the person and their self image.

Like many others, I have avoided activities like swimming. and even in the hottest weather I would wear a tight tee shirt under a loose shirt buttoned except at the collar.

Except for swimming, there was no limits to socialization and it was not an issue for the ladies in my life.

In my case, it is a family trait.

While the use of the drugs mentioned is on the rise, and their connection with gynecomastia is well established; Puberty and old age remain the most common causes.
