Cording

Has anyone experienced cording and if so what happened or is happening in your case.

This is some info I found on cording.

Some people may develop a pain that can feel like a tight cord running down from the armpit through to the back of your hand that can reduce your arm movements.  This is termed cording, due to the appearance of raised cord-like structures visible along the arm.

Cording is thought to be due to hardened lymph vessels.  It can appear anything from 6-8 weeks after your surgery up to many months afterwards.  Usually the symptoms will fade.

I have cording in one arm and it is restricting the movement in that arm.

It feels like a very tight tendon in the arm restricting it.

I have had some of them them snapped by my surgeon and I have snapped some of them by myself (it makes a loud audiable cracking sound and hurts a bit) but the main one is still there.

Perhaps Dr Bermant can offer his thoughts on cording.

I believe I have it too.  Feels like a cord from chest into deltoid area but thats about as fat as it goes.  No real pain but just that tightening.   I just stretch and massage the area
