basketball after surgery?

i'm guessing its not likely i'll be able to play basketball 9 days after surgery? what about 16 days after surgery?

i'm thinking about joining intramural basketball here at school, but i'm likely having surgery over spring break, and the season lasts a couple weeks past it. can this be done?

just for the record i'm 18, in good shape, and have a mild case.
