Got injections today, have question

Would you mind telling us your experience with the shots?  How many have you had?  How they worked out for you, etc, etc

I'm going in for my third in about 2 weeks. I've been spreading them far apart and just doing mild injections because my doctor said that they could cause my nips to cave in totally. As far as if they work or not. Im going to go with a 70% no on that one. But it has helped it slightly.

Is there anything we can do about folds and creases and all that stuff that goes with post op of this shitty condition.

Hey Silly_Guy, i'm going in a week and a half and I want to get some injections to help the scar tissue.  Do you have any pictures of before shots that you could post?  Also, before the shots, did your nipples look really good when they were erect, but when not they were really puffy?  That's how mine are because of the scar tissue.

Nope don't have any before shot pics.

But yeah, my chest did look good when erect, but the problem was they didn't seem to get that way often on their own.  They spent much of the time way puffed out, the areola was just one giant button.  The giant button look was what bothered me the most

I do need to mention that I still get a little puffy / pointy, but since the shot, they don't button up the way they used to.  But now, my chest does look pretty good a lot of the time on its own.

I'd also like to add that since the shot, it seems like there's some empty space behind my nipple.  The skin seems a little loose and if I press on it, it can take a second to come back.  Not sure if my skin just needs time to tighten up around my chest, or if this is a result of tissue atrophy or something like that.   Doesn't look bad or bother me any, but I feel I should mention it.

I can definitely see where these kinds of shots could have a negative impact on one's chest, but so far I'm happy I got them.

to me it seems that you can rebuild underneath there if you put on some muscle

The depression is really slight and I only noticed b/c I spend so much time examining myself, kinda obsessive as gyne tends to make the sufferer.   It's really not an issue at all.

Guess I'll look into posting some pics to better illustrate what's going on.  Maybe this week or next.

My doc told me that healing would take around 6 months so I went ahead and got the shots.  He told me that the swelling can be really stubborn in some patients and I'm wondering if it completely goes away in everyone on its own.  Lots of people here who looked good immediate post-op, but then complain that the puffiness came back.  I'm thinking that thats swelling that doesn't subside.

I'm no doctor, however.  I'm not necessarily even bright or insightful.  In fact, some of the stuff I do on a day-to-day basis is down-right dumb So please, anyone reading this, don't take my word as gold.

Well I set up this little free promotional web cam I got to take some pics, but the image is way over-sensitive to light (either over-blown or too dark).  

Guess I'll have to get a digital cam, unless someone's got some good pointers on getting a picture taken.

Try not to have the light shining directly towards the web cam.  If you can, stand behind the light so that it doesn't cast a glare.  Try to play around with it because I don't know if what I said makes any since

you mentioned that you had hardened tissue around your scars.  

I have a few questions...
1) Did your doctor say wether or not it's hypertrophic/keloid scars?  
2) Are you being treated for the hardened scar tissue or the puffyness?

I'm 5 weeks post op and my left nipple is puffy (the other is flat and healing nicely), and my scar is hard and a little raised, but doesn't seem to be discoloured.  

3) Do you know if they two are related (puffy/hardened tissue)?

Yeah I'll play around with the cam some more.

1) Nope sorry, I didn't ask all the proper questions, so I never found out what kinds of scars they were.

2) The doc gave me the shot for the scar tissue.  But, I must confess, I was counting on some tissue atrophy to take place to help out the results.  

When I mentioned that to my doc though he assured me that the puffiness was not gland.  

3) I've never been able to differentiate between gland and scar tissue.  But my nipples actually did seem puffier than even before the surgery.  The shot cleared that up though.
