need help diagnosing

ive been on finasteride for 3months now, and trying to figure out if i have glandular gyne or just pseudo (fat)... I cant tell, i mean while being on fin ive gained alot of belly and chest fat.. and my nipples seem a bit puffier. There is no pain, and i dont feel any lumps (and ive been checking for the past week in paranoia!)

What im trying to ask is, what is a good way to find out if you have gyne (without seeing a dock, he's in vacation for another few days)

Mainly what ive noticed is, when i pull my shoulders back my chest looks completely flat.. seems like most of the fat is residing under my arms (armpit area) and a bit forward to that.. like the outside of my chest/boobs

why have you been taking finasteride? by design it prevents the conversion of test to DHT and as a result there is more test available for conversion to estrogen.

with higher estrogen levels and lower DHT levels you very well could have upset your hormonal balance enough to allow gyne development. if you have no pain and the gland is not enflamed it is most likely just estrogen related fat deposits.

unless you've got a good reason to be taking the finasteride, i'd drop it. if its dr prescribed then you may want to talk to your doc about checking your estrogen levels and perhaps discuss your options with regard to an anti-estrogen in conjunction with the finasteride.

There are three reasons why a man might take Finasteride.

The first and most valid is if he is suffering from a prostate condition. This would usually be only in older men and if this is your case, do not stop taking the medication but contact your Doctor as soon as possible.

The second reason would be to attempt to halt or reverse male pattern baldness.  My personal opinion is that this is simply way too dangerous for little gain.

Third, it is one of the drugs commonly used by transexuals. Do you get that picture?

but what are the signs of glandular gyne.. i mean, most have said burning, a lump, itching and sensitive nipples.. i have none of these just seems likei  have extra fat underneath my armpits... (i can feel it under my arm)

EDIT - got too paranoid... went and saw a doc at a walk-in clinic and got him to check me out. He verified there is no nodular formation, just fat.. infact he said it all looks normal. Could just be in my head.
