Yep, it's just like when you make an appt. with your GP. You don't tell the receptionist 'why' you want to see the Doc....

um, actually, yeah, i was asked why i wanted to see the doc. i made the call yesterday and she asked why.

The receptionist does not need to know precisely why you want to see the Doctor.  The receptionist does have a responsibility to get the patients scheduled on a priority basis though and that is the reason why they want to know the nature of your problem.
