how long did you wear the dressings covering the areola after a surgery?

would it make sense to only cover the areolas with tape under the vest 10 days after surgery?

i had drains for 3 days. then removed the tape on the 3rd day with the drains. just today got my stitches out i have just a couple pieces of tape on now. the doc said let them come off on their own. this wednesday will be a week
