shower after surgery

hey guys i had surgery about 6 days ago.. ive been sponge bathing for the past 6 days.. is it ok to take regular showers now?

also im not using a vest.. all i have is one pad on each breast and a strap around my chest to hold the pads.. but i do have a gyne compression undershirt i used before surgery.. can i use that instead of the pads?

My surgeon had me showering the next day.  I would check.
