Hi everyone!! I am scheduled for a revision of gynecomastia surgery with areola reduction. About 7 mths ago, I had excision and lipo from my chest. Yes, my chest is flatter but there is still fat and gland in my chest and am needing a revision. I guess the only thing that bothers me is my areola complex. It still gives me a feminine appearance. My original PS just doesn't want to address this problem, he says I look fine. The new ps tells me I have loose skin and my areolas need to be reduced to give me a more flat chest contour. If I stand up really straight they are flatter but as soon as I relax and sit down my chest takes on a feminine appearance. Has anyone had this type of situation or procedure? Any thought would be appreciated.

you would think he would understand the problem better.  usually areola reduction is to reduce diameter, i think you're just trying to reduce puffies/conicality, and if he knows gyne you'd think he could handle it.  i'd politely tell him to consult with another specialist about technique and say it can be done.

Thanks Headheldhigh!! I spoke with another PS and he told me I still have breast tissue and localize fat. He also went on to say I have loose skin. I guess my original PS thought the skin would contract. My new PS told me my areolas are a bit on the above average size distorting my chest contour. He said he would make an incision at the top of my areola and remove skin around the top of the areola and cheat areola into smaller size..This guy sounds like he knows what he's doing. Man , I would go up to Dr. Bermant but the travelling sucks. I can't afford all that, ya know. Hopefully, here in Palm Harbor, FL I can get this corrected with new PS..I don't feel any hard disk or anything under my nipple complex. My areola are just big and they folds when I am relaxed which distorts my chest, Does this make sense? Thanks for your information.

sound basically good to me.  about travel, other people that have to sometimes find they can save on the deal if the local guy is too pricey, but whatever works.

Areola reduction surgery can be tricky and I have seen disastrous results in the wrong hands.  Here is an example of a patient revised after initial areola reduction surgery done in Australia, early and 2 years after his operation.  It can be hard to hide male chest skin reduction scars.

Hope this helps,
