Hi guys,
I'm 5 days post-op (early I know), and I've noticed that my areola is not making contact with the edge of my nipple and the incision site is exposed (approximately 5 mm in size). The area is covered with a steri-strip, but it does concern me as my other areola seems to be making contact with the edge of my nipple and the incision site is not visible. My doctor is Dr. Fielding and I'm aware he uses internal dissolvable stitches to attach the nipple from where the incision site was made. Should I be worried?

You should absolutely contact Dr Fielding.  However, in general, if there is no infection and there is a slight gap in the wound, it should heal quite nicely.  Simply apply some antibiotic ointment in the meantime until you see Dr Fielding.
