How do you guys go about massaging? Sounds like a dumb question I know, but do you use lotion/ massage gels/ anything at all? If so, what kind?

Do you simply do circular motions or try and go for deep tissue massaging?

Thanks guys!

I use a flat head hand massager and add oil to my chest so it's smooth.

Use arnica gel, twice a day after shower.

Personally massage very gently! flat of hand in slow round motion, I get a bizzare range of emotions and sensations while masssaging, but my chest feels better after massaging, maybe its all just psychological who knows!
Before you criticise a man walk a mile in his shoes, after that who cares? your a mile away and have his shoes.

Same here !

I massage 3 times a day for 5 mins with my fingertips in a circular motion. I apply significant pressure and I use Arnica Gel. I have almost no swelling and a little scar tissue (5 weeks post-op).

Any drugstore. It's OTC and homeopathic.

I started 5 days post-op.  It might have been a little early, I don't know.  My chest looks amazing although a little lumpy with scar tissue. Readings on this site showed me that some go through far worse healing processes. Maybe the combination my PS vast experience and following carefully his instructions contributed to the great results I'm experciencing

Tomorrow is my last full day of wearing the vest (yay).  I think I will massage for a few more weeks...

I am deeply suspicious of anything homoeopathic, but what harm could it cause.

So, you can get it at a pharmacy? How much does it cost?

As far as I know, you're supposed to start the massage 2 weeks post-op. I'm only one day in so far.
Surgery completed. Mission accomplished!

i would totally recommend homeopathic arnica, it helped me a lot in my healing process, now im applying arnica gel daily to complete heal swelling is working.

Do they sell arnica gel over the counter at any pharmacy stores?
Yes. In Canada, at least...
