Crossit,

Did not mean to offend with advice. I am concerned for your well being. We all know what it means to deal with Gyno and want the t-shirt and beach results.

As for me - an interesting event this evening. I am hypothesizing here... but I started feel sick at work around noon. By the time I got home, I was having chills and nausea and my left side (hemotoma)chest hurt. I decided a hot shower would be a good idea for chills and to check out my chest.

As I was told the dark red/purple hemotoma has drifted downwards and now is hitting my belly and hips. I believe my kidney, liver, GI system or whatever.... is starting to getting hit with the old blood and fluids - and is working overtime to filter and process it. Hence the drop in body temp. Also my swelling on my left side is now 40% less and is tightening up and so hurts more now than in the last few days. Interesting if I am right.

No way man, no offense taken! It was solid advice! :)

Hmmm that is strange.. But wouldn't your temp go up if you had a fever??

After the chills, came the sweating. A mild temp of 100.  Whether it is all related or I just caught a virus, don't know. I do know the swelling is going down, and the hemotoma is drifting/spreading downwards like they said it would, so I am happy with moving in the right direction.

Any update on the travels of your hematoma?

Just wanted to update my experience last night.  Today is 2 weeks post-op.  So last night, I succumbed to the urges and had sex with my girlfriend.  Tell ya what, taking my shirt off was akin to that moment when you're about to walk into the operating room; have to just take a deep breath and go.  I closed the windows as tightly as possible to keep out as much light as I could, but knowing that pupils dilate still made me worry.  I'm happy with my healing so far I guess, but my nips still look pretty beat up - definitely NOT healed enough to have sex in the daylight or walk around without a shirt.   So anyway, we begin, and tell ya what, it was not enjoyable;  I mean, it was, but it wasn't.  I was so focused on hiding my cuts (by manipulating lights and body position) and also avoiding friction in the chest area, cause it defintely still hurts - the last thing I wanted to was to tear open the incisions!  Luckily, I came away unscathed.  The best part, was after we were finished, she fell asleep - with her hand on my chest!- not breasts.  I was then able to sneak out of bed and go examine my wounds and throw on a shirt.  Was a big step in my healing.

Any updates from anyone else?

Showtime620,

Slow and steady progress on my hemotoma and healing. It is going in the right direction as far as decrease in swelling, Mainly on front going down, side are still way too swollen. The discoloration which while decreasing in color is spreading wider. But at 9 days I am being patient since I do see tiny progress every day. My neck made a nice jump in decrease in swelling in last two days, I am wrapping it tighter at night and that seems to help.

Late edit - I might add I am finding I like wearing the compression vest - I look better under dress shirts and I suppose it provides a secure feeling. Weird, I know most hate their vests.

Good and bad about the sex huh? I told my wife "nothing going on for a month at least" she was like "a month ?! :o"  I was going to remind her we been married long enough to have hit longer spells (honey remember your last 2 months of pregnancy and 2 months afterwards?), but I did not want to say this is my time for "don't touch me!". I am thinking at a month time frame, I might be wearing a tight black wife beater  8) during the activities until I get to two months of healing.

lol funny sex story. Sucks she doesn't know, that would make it tough for sure.

Jesus, I am as sore as I have ever been in my life. Back + Bis monday and Chest + tris yesterday. Chest was weeeeeeaaaaaaak as hell, but no pain whatsoever when I trained. No real major changes, just being patient and doing what I can to get in shape.

It seems to vary. My doc actually gave me the go ahead at 2 weeks, but I wasn't feeling up to it till this last Monday (4/2/12) and my surgery was on 3/8/12. Essentially it was the start of my 4th week post op. I only got excision, and it seems excision only is a bit quicker in healing? I could be wrong. I banged out a hard chest workout on Wed and it felt just fine. Only thing that sucked was my strength and muscle endurance but that is expected. --Oh, and I got some of the worse DOMs of my life. I am still unbelievably sore from MONDAY when I did back+bi's.. I didn't hold back on either workout so far, figured I'd dive right in and get that soreness outta the way lol

Shoulders today!

Haha just read through this thread. Mine is arrogant as well, in fact I am not even happy with my results at all, probably going in for a revision in a few months.

You haven't been seen ONCE post op? That's unheard of bro..

Hey Element.  My doc, Doctor Dr. Lo, in Philly, said that I can start lifting other body parts at 3 weeks, so next Thursday or Friday-ish for me.  Sounds like I can lift light chest after a month and ramp it up after 6 weeks, but he stressed to 'listen to your body', and not to push too hard if your body is saying no.  I'm anxious to get lifting, too, but after the whole process, I don't want to ruin my recovery because I became impatient to lift too soon.

You didn't see your arrogant doc once?  That's odd, man.  I'd try to make it a point to get in there.  The money that you pay, should not only cover the surgery, but also his 'expertise' afterwards during recovery.  I've seen mine twice since the operation, which was two weeks ago.  So far, I'm pleased with him, my nips still look beat up, but it's only been 15 days, so I'm not too worried - yet! Just trying to let my body heal.  Lo himself, has been great.  Certainly confident, but not arrogant.  He's encouraged me to ask questions all throughout this process and he emails back promptly.  I was telling Crossfit before that I went to go see that guy in white plains, new york and booked the surgery, but then I ended up cancelling it because he seemed toooo cocky/arrogant; it was like a gyne excision factory where he seemed to mostly only care about getting bodies in the room, not actual patient care, if that makes any sense.

If you don't feel like reading through all of this thread to find out Crossfit's true feelings for his doctor, I will sum it up - Crossfit plans to make his plastic surgeon the Godfather of his next child...

ya Ive seen his nurses a bunch of times and there extremely nice and caring. Honestly after my consultation with this doctor before my op i was like darn this guy hes a total not a nice person but after reading reviews on him and finding out that hes one of the best in my area i decided to follow through. Im pretty happy with my results so far but there's a few things that i don't like wich could just be swelling so im not gonna judge yet. Also im from canada so my excision was covered by manitoba health but i still had to pay for lipo wich was like 2400 bucks so i better be satisfied in the end. I hope you guys are all satisfied in the end aswell. They say to give it at least 6 months so just gotta play the waiting game i guess!
