I'd say yes, but I'm no expert! I took mine off after 5 days and washed the armpits with soap and a wet flannel, no issues since :)

As long as the incisions are scabbed over, you can leave them off should be sound to leave them off now.

Looked sealed to me so hopefully I should be good. It's useless having them under my arms anyway as they just keep dropping off!

Overall, I'm happy so far. Just hoping I don't get much scar tissue. I actually tried on a t-shirt tonight quickly after my shower and it feels good! No more pointy things!

Looking forward to getting back in the gym but not going to rush, have all the time in the world.  Hopefully should be able to start slow light running late next week.

Now that I've had the surgery. I think my chest lacks size compared to my shoulders and upper back. Don't know if this is due to swelling? Or simply my chest just needs more work compared to everything else.

Lighting isn't great but I've included a few more photos below.

Also to those who are also recovering and are eating/drinking pineapple to help, Marks & Spencers have some dried out Pineapple and it's so nice.

Guys, do you think it would be safe to take off the waterproof plasters on both the areola's now? I'm 1 week into recovery.

You should really be changing them every day or at least every 2 days.

In terms of taking them off for good, it all depends on when the wound closes off or completely scabs over. Do not pick the scabs, it's really tempting :P

11 Days Post Surgery

Things seem to be going pretty well. Bruising and Swelling is disappearing. I've been walking roughly 6 miles everyday for the past 5 days or so to just keep myself occupied. Hopefully this will also aid recovery!

Just wonder when the scar tissue will kick in?

Well everyone, I'm 2 weeks post surgery today and I am really happy with the results. Karidis has done a great job.

Quick Update

I say about 90% of the swelling has disappeared and my mobility is back to about 95%. Got back into running in the last 4 days and had no problems. Aiming to be back in the gym in about 2 weeks, I think everything should be good by then.

Slight scar tissue has appeared on the right hand side, nothing big and not noticeable - going to start massaging tomorrow.

hi mate

quick question.

on karidis website it says that he can do the surgery under local anasthetic which means you stay awake for the procedure. did you discuss that with him? i am planning on getting it done with him but only for that reason. i have a huge phobia of being put to sleep as one of my friends died a few years ago on the surgical table during a routine surgery.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

I did discuss local anasthetic with Karidis briefly. I got the impression that he's not awfully keen on it, but he does do it. He went on about how I would have to be constantly pricked with a needle and said general anasthetic would be easier.

Don't quote me on this but I think I remember reading somewhere that local anasthetic isn't as ideal as general anasthetic for the cosmetic surgeon as it swells up the area and makes it harder to 'sculpt'.

thanks for the answer

looks like you are looking good in the photos.

any reason you chose karidis over the others? you could have got it done for half the price in poland...

Cheers :)

For me, it was only a decision between Karidis and Levick. Both had good experience, but I choose Karidis in the end as he has done thousands of the operation and his results always seem to be consistently good. Plus it's a day case compared to a 1 night stay with Levick.

Poland was never a option for me, going to London to get it done was bad enough, travel wise. I honestly don't think money should hinder decisions in stuff like this. My thought process was, get the best treatment, be happy and live your life to the full.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Nipper,

Yeah I'm really happy with the results. Just the freedom of wearing t-shirts without having to worry is brilliant.

On another note, scar tissue seems to be getting a little worse.

Also just had some blood work back and Estradiol is slightly elevated which is known to cause Gyno, so seeing a specialist next week. This is going to be playing on my mind with the whole scar tissue thing.

Hope everything is going well with yourself and recovering well.

I expect scar tissue will have to get worse to recede? You hardly look like you have that Klinefelter's syndrome.  From reading about Estradiol on wiki, it would seem it's linked to Klinefelter's, but would be pubertal?  Anyway mate, best of luck at the specialist, hope you get your mind put at ease.

And I'm good, thanks for asking ;)  Just getting my own head round it all.

A few other hormone levels came back not so good too. FSH low, Prolactin high, Testosterone low for age and ALT high.

Hopefully the specialist will find the root of the problem.
