Having not long ago booked my consultation with karidis for next week, and now watching this program about horror plastic surgery..I am officially getting cold feet. Direct quote from the documentary "males nipple falls off after surgery to remove man boobs"  38 year old office manager from Liverpool, had to have 5 ops on his man boobs due to complications, then left with large angry scars, and the left nipple died and fell off. Apparently he had his blood supply damaged to his left nipple due to re surgery resulting in it falling off. So he then goes to see dr Richard young who attempts to fix the problem.

Interestingly also  States that last year 30% of males had breast reduction surgery.

Anyway I now have a permanent
Scared face....

P.s It does show some of dr mulluci's work, who I have seen mentioned on here a few times.

im watching it too, the figures they are comming up with are farcical its a shock program so take the majority of it as scare mongering

Nipples falling off is VERY rare, it would only really happen if the whole nipple needed moving and ive never seen Karidis need to do that in an op. It happens when the blood supply to the nipple goes, ive seen a fair few nipple realignments and theyve been fine

Looking at his chest, god knows what happened it seems they've done some weird skin removal technique its really badly done and to mock up a nipple from a skin graft is unheard of. Id be interested to see who performed it, they naming and shaming really.

He seems quite delighted with that nipple even though its 1.5x larger than the other.

I'm going to watch it on +1 now I've seen this post. Well I haven't heard a case like this with either levick or karidis and you're going to one of the most reputable surgeons for this procedure so i wouldnt worry. Cold feet is perfectly normal.
Gyno free :)

They really needed to send him to a makeup specialist, i dont know how she colour matched the skin but its not a great job but if he blended it in with foundation it would look alright. You could also hide the keloid scaring along the chest, they would have done him a favour if they had given him some shots and used makeup to mask it.

He would of been better off with a tattoo really, it would look much better. Im glad that he's pleased, but i think more could have been done for him.

"last year 30% of males had breast reduction surgery"

Surely that statistic was qualified in some way? 30% of male operations? 30% of total cosmetic surgeries?

My surgeon that she had two cases out of necrosis out of 500, and that it was a partial crescent along the incision. Add to that it was guys who had 1kg on each side removed. Hopefully that should allay your fears a little. I wouldn't base you decisions of an hysterical, alarmist, anecdotalist show.

I think they said a 30% increase in the number of male chest reduction surgery.

Damn I hate watching that teeth one. Looks pretty rough going through that

I know the teeth one especially was un-bearable. Well i guess these things are never great to watch when your considering surgery.

True, just like people who are afraid of flying watching aircraft disaster documentaries I guess.

It would have been interesting to hear more about where, how and when his chest reduction was done. Sure this is risk is any surgery but with the right surgeons its all pretty rare.

I just watched it online.

I think the prosthetic nipple was a good option for the guy initially, that way if he doesn't like it he can always get the tattoo.

I feel sad for anyone who gets a bad surgery. The trouble seems to occur when people try to get a bargain, like that guy with the teeth. There are no bargains in cosmetic surgery, its expensive and should only be considered after extensive research.

I feel bad for the guy but at least he managed to get it sorted. That however has not put my mind at ease about having my op in just over two weeks, ah well not going to back out now.
