Karidis patients - is the beach an option after surgery?

This a request for all Karidis patients - would you feel comfortable going to the beach after surgery? Would strangers or even friends be able to notice that you have had surgery? Are the scars noticeable? Does your chest look natural (e.g. not tampered with)? I have been considering surgery for some time now and I intend to keep this secret from my family and friends (with the exception of my wife). As I'm an Australian temporarily living in London, when I return home beaches are part of the lifestyle and it will be difficult to avoid. Could I play skins in a 5 a side game of football post surgery?

If I have to constantly hide my chest from friends and family is surgery worth it? Would I be in better positon than I am today? Today I just take my top off at the beach and think that everyone is quietly laughing at my chest. My friends might make the odd comment. Self deprecation is the best way to deal with the jibes. I avoid games of 5 a side on hot days, just in case it is hot enough for the tops to come off.  Don't get me wrong, I do see the advantages of being able to wear tight tops, but if scars/weird looking chest is my life going forward, is it worth it? My case could be considered mild, so does that improve my chances?

As I've Karidis is the only surgeon I would consider, I was hoping to get a view from his patients.

i have managed to get the money together now so im the same as u. dont know wether to take the leap. i live in the uk so dont have to take my top off as much as you, and wearing fitting clothing would be a god send as everything seems to be fitted these days designer clothing i mean wich i like.

Hi, I can't comment about Karidis as I didn't have surgery with him.......... however I think you raise a good point.
 
In my opinion anybody who has what they themselves consider a ''mild'' problem should be thinking very carefully about the risks & rewards of having surgery.   Members of this site come and go over the years and those that seem least satisfied are the guys with small issues who are expecting near perfect results; most guys with larger boobs who get a 70 or 80% improvement seem thrilled. (as a generalisation)


The risks of surgery are always gonna be there, even if the original problem is small........... if you can go topless now what benefits does the surgery have?   I'm sure many guys feel self conscious about something or other but does it have a big enough impact to have surgery?

Yeah, you will need to allow a gap to heal though

You will have scar tissue for a while after, but once your healed up its sound. Not scars at all really anymore you can see my arm pit ones if i held it up to the light and pointed at the tiny dot where its at, but thats it! Nipples healed sound no scarring. If you can afford it go for it getting in shape before hand would be a bonus aswell if you want a beach body. I havent been the beach myself but go swimming and feel more confident takes a while to get over the gyno hunch though

 kingboob i would off thought that the smaller the gyne the easier to fix perhaps im wrong. i have a pronounced gland issue i think and has affected me for years. wich basically people have made me think about it by pinching when im in t shirts or fitted shirts etc so kinda started it off in my mind.

i have never been one to take off my top even before i had gyno when i was yound so all good. im currently having a long hard think what to do about surgery. it is a great feeling knowing i have the money now to go ahead with it. the only problem is this money is the most money i have ever had in my life. at the moment i am able to wear jackets and things to work so doesnt quite bother me as much.

any imputs would be appreciated thanks

Im actually 5 weeks post op today,i would have no problem going to beach from prob 4 weeks post op,everybody heals different though.
Just scar tissue under skin now,which isnt really noticable,even if my chest stayed like this id be happy ,but i know it will heal even more,right in time for summer.
So yeah if you waited prob after 4 weeks you d be fine,karidis is the main dude,i cant beleive how good a job he done.

I don't know if it is easier to fix a small case or not......... probably is but only the surgeon could answer for sure.

The risks of surgery remain the same though (bleeding, infection, scarring etc etc), and going from what I have seen on here, those guys with smaller gyne generally have much higher expectations and are less patient when it comes to any complications.

I'm not trying to put anyone off having surgery - I just think people need to go in with eyes wide open and have sensible / realistic expectations....... expect a good improvement and be thrilled if you get perfection, rather than being disappointed if you don't.

ye i understand what u are sayin kingboob! im goin to give the training a go and eat healthily and get myself ready for surgery.

its a shame really u cant get the blood testing sorted before u book for surgery. i mean what type of things does karidis check for? i have had blood test related for gynecomastia from the drs would these be ok for him? as this would make me feel like im getting closer to getting this done.

Hi Guys

Im still considering my options too. What i will say is that for me personally im now at the stage mentally where i dont see
myself taking my top off in public ever. I think my gyno is bad,so surgery can only improve things. If i had just a slight case then it would be
a much harder decision,the way i see it is if its not really effecting your life then dont have surgery but if its stopping you living a normal life then
get it done.

hey dtc78 it is affecting my normal life to be honest. ive just started a new job and thing so jus want to have a good think of it before i do sugery.

 i feel like when i train i get a good shape! but the gyne ruins it all so puts me off training also i would like to wear polo tops and tight fitting shirts.

i know having a large case must be frustrating but if u are nearly there and just a bit of gland is ruing it. it is very frustrating as sometimes it looks normal and other times puffs out.

a previous person once said gyne is gyne and that is true for me. i think i will have to get it done time will tell!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I've been on and off on these boards for a few years now and delaying a visit to Karidis. The hospital in St Johns wood is only about 15 mins walk from my place! My time in the UK is limited now, so I cant procrastinate any longer. I know that back in Aus nobody is as skilled as Karidis, so this really must last chance to sort my gyne out.

Kingboob - I can go topless now, but is is really embarrassing. I do feel self conscious and feel like everyone is looking at my chest. When I was about 21 I went to a party and a mate and I were play fighting and we both fell into his swimming pool. I had to take my top off and some jackass starts yelling out "breasts, breasts!!". This evidences that everyone is aware of my condition, even if they are polite enough not to tease me about it. I never really feel comfortable in a t-shirt either...If I am to undertake surgery, I really want perfection - I guess I need to have realistic expectations. 

Postiey - Good luck with the training. I've been able to lose some weight but it has not made much of a difference. I've never had a 6 pack and my wife believes that a 6 pack and gyne are mutually exclusive (at least in my case). Therefore, she will only really support my decision to have surgery if I have tried everything naturally first. She is happy for me to get surgery, but I know deep down she thinks it can be resolved if I get in shape. Therefore, I'm going to have to start training and dieting hard to prove her wrong. I figure if she is right, then at least I can avoid surgery, if she's wrong (which unfortunately I think she is) then at least I'll be in shape for surgery.

thetodd - what timescales are we talking here before I could go out in public are surgery without anyone knowing that I'd been under the knife.

I've asked this before, but how does breast augmenation differ? I've seen many pornos and been to strip clubs (those days are long gone...) and many of the girls clearly have fake breasts. How do they manage to hide their surgery scars? I'm pretty sure I saw documentary on breast enhancement some years ago which showed the silicone is inserted via an incision in the nipple, as opposed to under the fold of the breast (Stonecold's explanation a few years ago).

Further comments are appreciated.

4-12 months, depends on skin colour/ age etc

if your a young light skinned lad, 4-6 months for public viewings it varies person to person though theres no strict timescale
