Hi everyone
I am hoping to go and have glands removed in the next few weeks, however the doctor who is carrying out the procedure kind of scarred me by mentioning that there is often the possibiltiy of loose skin being left. Would anybody know if this is common?
Thanks

I think it's only a real concern if the patient is largely overweight. I mean obese. If you're reasonably trim, even a little porky you'll be fine. Plus you wear a compression vest to retract the skin for 2 weeks.

This forum has tonnes of case studies, I've never seen anyone with loose skin. Plenty of other things to worry about first!  :D

I wouldnt worry about loose skin too much unless you are really overwieght & if thats the case you should reduce that weight before surgery.

I was worried about lose skin as my right side the gland had grown really big it had stretched my skin alot but post op it sprung back really well & now 9weeks post op its even better.
Good luck
