Hi Everyone,

Im a long time lurker on these boards and they have been hugely helpful for me so I thought I would start a log to provide some information for others. As the subject title suggests I am about 7 weeks away from Surgery with Dr. Karidis here in London. I had my consult around 4 weeks ago and have paid my deposit for a surgery date in the beginning of september.

I have had gyno since I was about 15 or so...for years it just appeared to be puffy nipples but as I have gotten older it has become more pronounced and droopy. I used to go about my business as normal not really caring about it as it wasnt really terribly noticeable....I am now definitely more self conscious about it and it has started to affect the way I live my life. Its gone from puffy nipples to probably a smallish pinch of tissue/gland. As a 24 year old there are lots of things I want to do without having to worry about my chest so the more research I did the surer I became that I wanted the surgery. Having seen the results people have had with Dr K I decided he was my go to guy.

Booking the consult was easy and painless. Dr K seemed very pleasant and told me he could "get me flat", as he seems to have done with so many others on this board! He told me my case was mainly glandular with some fat behind it so liposuction and then excision will be the order of the day. One of the most important things for me was knowing that my chest would respond to lifting weights etc after surgery (I like to lift weights although the motivation to be lean dissapates when the chest never changes) and he assured me it would. He also told me he couldnt do it all, refering of course to the fact that having realistic expectations is crucial i.e- dont expect to go in a fat slob and come out a cover model! I will be happy with a normal looking male chest, the most important thing being removal of that horrible gland and having the tools to build something myself.

Im really excited about the prospect of wearing t-shirts, being able to go topless without having to pinch my nipples every two minutes and all the other stuff I cant do right now. I know the scar tissue etc is going to be a pain but ill stick with the massage etc and I think it will be a small annoyance compared to the condition itself. Ill also probably wear the compression vest for a month to see if that helps things.

I must admit I am slighly worried about some of the comments people have made about him being a "smooth talker" etc....but I think his surgery skills speak for themselves. I also get little periods of doubt in between the excitement which I guess is normal. Having never been under anasthetic before it scares me a little. And I also worry a little that something will go wrong e.g- end up with a bad result, looking worse than before the surgery

Anyway, this turned out much longer than I thought it was going to be! If any one has any questions or advice post away...Ill be keeping this update as I go along although I guess there wont be much to report until the surgery. Im going to be trimming about 10lbs or so in the next few weeks.

Hey - this post could of basically been by me, such is the similarity.

I'm booked in with Karidis on Aug 10th. I went for consultation with both Levick and Karidis, and to be honest whilst i felt Levick was friendlier, the numerous pre and post op photo's he showed me convinced me Karidis was the one to go for.

Karidis told me he could "get me flat" too - it must be his hook line.

Good luck.

Hey Rhet, Great to hear from someone in the same boat! I was initally offered the op around August but wanted to give it while for the weather to cool down. I work in the city centre and dont think commuting wearing the compression vest on the hot tube would be much fun!

To be honest I think it is his "hook line". I have heard it mentioned again and again on this board. Does it bother me....maybe a little. Its kind of weird to think your surgeon is trotting out the same line to everyone (I think the todd first mentioned about the repetition). But I have to say ive been very impressed with the results ive seen on this board so I dont doubt his skill. I dont like the thought of being "flat", but I guess he is referring to natural curvature rather than sucking everything out as that would look wrong as well.

Another big thing for me was the nipple incision to remove the gland. I want that damn thing out and felt that direct incision would be more accurate and effective than doing it all through the armpit so that was a reason for him over levick.

At the moment I cant help thinking about the t-shirts I'll be able to wear, holidays i'll be able to go on and being able to go to the gym knowing my chest WILL show some progress. Being lean did improve my gyne slightly but the big womanish nipples were still there. I have had girlfriends comment on them (none of them really seemed to care) but the worst has definitely been from other lads. For example being on nights out and having mates poke fun at you, tweak them etc. It fills me full of shame and embarrasment thinking about it. Like I said though, I have had girlfriends comment on it (mucking about) but I dont think it has ever put a girl off me. In saying that though, I did have one girl tell me I had "really nice manboobs", in a bar. That was so humilitaing. Laughed about it but it stung like you wouldnt believe.

For the guys who have had surgery, Ive heard lots of comp thouslaints about scar tissue, creasing etc....do any of you wish you hadnt had the surgery for these reasons? In my mind that stuff is unfortunate but must be aand times better than gyno! Cheers for the input fellas

Yeah it is a hookline, but thats what that consultation is really. Its a sales pitch its how the private sector have to survive i guess.

Scarring is a crappy hurdle most of us have to cross, i still have some keloid scarring! It does make the overall result look bad but its more the constant reminder of the surgery that bothers me. Because i have to massage it and its not a pleasant experience day in and out. But having said that id recommend it all the way sometimes i think "i wish i never had the surgery just look at my right hand side pec" and i open up my old topic and i just think "What a difference". If i was in your position now i would be very optimistic he will make you flat but its more of a psychological thing you have to overcome. Youl carry yourself differently and be more confident

for me before surgery i was stuck in a bad place, i was in a shit job and i was just doing nothing. Since surgery got a job i love and ive got a proper bird bird (and i went through a period of pure one night stands) ;). Low self confidence was ruining my life and i can say hands on heart say it was fully worth the £4K!

That comment that girl made has obviously stayed with you,  sounds impossible but you basically need to train yourself to forget the bad moments like that. It is possible ive told a few people on here about this book i cannot tell you how much it will change your views on women.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Neil-Strauss/dp/1841957739

This book will teach you how to evaluate yourself and basically make you "money", you can probally get it for free if you looked on torrent sites. This is basically what started getting me interested in pickup as a whole start watching films like "Swingers" "Alfie" and just build up your self confidence. Once your over surgery and youve got self confidence trust me your unstoppable!

Its great to sort the gyne out, but even better to be fully happy in your own skin!

Thanks for the input the todd. I think your photos were some of the first I saw when I began researching what I had (thought for years it was just chest fat or "the way I was"). I was pretty impressed with what I saw there, you really did a great result. In fact, your and Niguy's pics were pretty much the ones which sealed me on Karidis.

How are your results now? Is the scar tissue really that bad as to detract from being rid of gyno? Ive read that it makes the skin bumpy, how obvious is this? Im going for a winter break about 10 weeks after surgery (Going skiing) and then getting some sun around xmas (about 3.5 months after surgery)....WIll the scar tissue be visible through tshirts or visible to others when on holiday? Sorry for the questions but these are things I worry about....hate the thought of having the surgery and then still having concerns about what I wear/ how I look with my shirt off. Its really helpful to have someone here who's been through it though!

As far as confidence goes, I completely get where your coming from. To be honest, its not something ive really suffered from a lack of. Ive always done well with women and have a good job, prospects etc. In saying that there are tshirts ive bought which I wont wear, it affects my motivation to work out and having to pinch your nipples every 5 minutes isnt much of a way to live...so I guess it actually does affect my confidence and self esteem more than I let myself realise.

It has definitely affected me in certain situations. It would be nice to have this barrier to those situations gone.

it does make the skin bumpy if you look under good light with your hands in the air, it just sorts of make it look out of proportion slightly (very slight) i will try and get some pics of mine i keep on meaning to do it.

Id be worrying about falling tho when your skiiing, its going to really really hurt! and you might still be swelled at that time i cant remember. Visually no-one will be able to tell but its going to hurt you if you fall

Thanks again for the info mate. So its only noticeable under light with your hands in the air.....better hope I dont get mugged with my top off by a guy with a torch :D

Do you have any issues with skin being stuck to the muscle or cratering etc? Is that sort of thing likely with a surgeon like Karidis? I would be really interested so see some pics now that you had the surgery quite a while ago...it seems most guys get the surgery, post initial results and then forget about it all together. Dont blame them for that but would like to see how things are further on down the line

For some stupid reason my concern is that my chest will look worse or something. I know that this very unlikely and Im confident Karidis will do a good job....I guess its just my head playing tricks on me.

3 weeks today until I have my surgery with Karidis, I have paid my final installment today so all i need to do is wait now, feeling really nervous and exited at the same time, I have been on a major diet and lost just over a stone, I wan't to be in the best possible shape I can when I have the surgery so I have opted for a leaner look, I will try and get some pictures taken so I can post pre and post op pics.

Ok im using my shite iphone camera, ill try and get another one but just to show you

if you look in my pic with my top off and look at the right hand side, youl see like a dark ring round my pec that is infact where im massaging the scar tissue ... and it shows up like that in low light (its weird). But apart from that im completley flat ive added a pic of me in a skin tight tshirt just to give others an idea of that. Sorry for the shit quality ... but i aint got no batteries for my main camera

Mate, your results are incredible! Im sure you are absolutley over the moon....if not you should be! You dont have it anymore dude, its gone and your on the other side!! I hope I can get the same results. My gyno looks kinda similar to yours I reckon, my left side is a little larger than the right and there is a lot of gland there I feel. A good pinch of it anyway.

I posted up some here ; http://s772.photobucket.com/albums/yy10/Nomoregyno/

Let me know what you think, can Dr K get me a flat, normal looking male chest??

Yeah, My case definitely isnt as serious as many I have seen but I will still be glad to be rid of it. I wore a tightish tshirt to the shops today as was self conscious all the way. Pulling it away from my chest, pinching my nipples, bringing my hands up to cover it. I will be delighted not to have to do that anymore.

One thing im curious about, I have read posts that say things like "surgery can only give the impression of not having gyno" and "people shouldnt expect to model for mens health" etc. I dont get it. I mean, surely once the excess tissue and stubborn fat is gone you are left with a chest like any other male?

Of course people shouldnt expect to have a perfect chest when they havent lifted any weights or got their diet in check. But surely once these things are in place, with the gland etc gone you can achieve the results you want? I know the procedure is common with competitive bodybuilders who use steroids. Pro BB is without a doubt the vainest, most narcisstic sport there is so if those guys can go on to have normal chests after, why cant average joe? Obviously they need to work for it but they should be able to do it, no?

From your pics todd I think if you hit the gym and put on some more muscle you could have a muscular, defined chest to give those MH models a run for their money  ;D

I really shouldnt have read the posts about creasing and revision surgery....makes me really question going for the procedure.

Do I want a flat chest? Absolutley.

Do I want to go under the knife ever again? No

You can achieve a good chest but people think

surgery = Perfect chest

its not that simple, to have a chest like the mens health blokes takes about 2 years of constant dieting and weight lifting. It is possible but it takes dedication ... and cant be arsed with that shit ;). Anyone who has done a gym routine knows how easy it is to let it slip and once you have a six pack and stop training its gone in like a week and your back to square one. Its nearly impossible to maintain throughout the year

End of the day you cant predict a result you gotta chance it, i had a bit of creasing after surgery and its gone now. Ive still got internal scarring, but i can live with that. A lot of people look at my thread and see pre op, then Day1 after and think

"god thats easy and quick"

but what they dont see is me swelled up, bruised and in discomfort for quite a while. Then having to constantly massage three times a day. The operation is brilliant it isnt all smooth sailing but ultimately i think youd be perfect for it

Hey man, thanks for the input. Stuff ike that really does help me.....I guess a lot of concern is in my head. Im a guy who doesnt necessarily agree with plastic surgery (I dont get people going in to get their faces messed with and stuff) but when it comes to gyno thats obviously a different story!

I guess all Im hoping for is to know that after surgery I CAN have a normal chest. I guess there is a risk with everything....my biggest concern is having something I have to go back and get fixed over and over. Like I said, Im hoping this is a one off, glandular tissue gone and I can forget about pokey nipples and droopy breasts. If it takes work in terms of massaging, fine. Comprared to gyno thats a non-issue.

I dont expect to wake up and be looking at sculpted pecs. I think more than anything else I just want to know my chest will respond like a normal chest does. I dont expect to ever model or anything like that....but I would like to be physically normal with the opportunity to build a chest I can be proud of.
