So guys.  A week today i will be gyne free and all being well back home from St Johns.  It all feels so surreal at the moment as i cant really begin to imagine life without gyne.

Then on to start the recovery process :D

Good luck mate!

My one bit of advice would be to expect swelling and lots if it. I was looking great for day 1 post-op but have since swelled to nearly my pre-op size! Just keep up the compression and power through!

G'luck!

I would not recommend taking anything that is not prescribed before surgery.  Anything you do take (prescription meds, vitamins  or herbal remedies etc) must be shown to the surgeon & anesthetist before hand...... as you do not know how these things may interact with medications given during surgery or with complications like bleeding.

Cheers for the reply guys.  Not long now.

Having a few last minute worries about the anestetic...but just looking forward to getting the op done and dusted now.  Is the anestetic really like people on here say.  Feeling like your waking up in recovery just a few seconds after?

Going under isnt owt to worry about, litterally theyl be talking to you and what feels like an instant later you look down and youl be covered in padding with a nurse waving at ya ;). You'll get wheeled back and given some food/drink. Its like a hotel room it wont feel like your in a hospital till they wheel you down to theatre which i wont lie is a little nerve racking because then it hits you that your getting the operation but youl be fine :)

Youl probally say something daft once you come around i kept on trying to point to the light above me and she kept on putting my arms down, must of been getting my rave on. Its just like being a bit drunk

Thanks for the reply thetodd! Can i just say i have been reading all your posts and you have put my mind at ease so much.  I think like you say the bit i am most worried about is the moments before it happens.  The going down to theatre then the administering of anestetic.  BUT im going to concentrate on all the positives that will happen!

I guess it will feel like when your about to go on that really scary rollercoaster at a themepark then you get strapped into the seat and start shitting yourself then once you get going you love it!!

Cant wait to be on the other side and starting recovery!  Got this awesome tight tee that is going to get worn for my missus birthday in 3 weeks :)

Ive been under twice before and I'm not a fan of needles and they do their best to distract you. They give you like a cream based anesthetic on your hand so u don't feel the needle etc going in feels like your getting pinched then your under. The first time i was under i had wisdom teeth removed and that is a proper nasty recovery this is a walk in the part compared to the pain of that

Tight tshirts are good, but just dont go out looking like a jersey shore bellend

Mate don't worry about the anaesthesia - you won't feel anything. Just relax on the bed before surgery and smile because it will last only a second. You will wake up without gyne :D
The only painful procedure was taking those plasters off the next day, so if you have any hair on your chest please shave it off :)
I am VERY pleased with the results of my op, especially considering how severe my gyne was. Dr. Karidis is the pro and I would recommend him to anybody with gyne problem.
I can tell you that in your case you will be happy with surgery outcome.
In two days you will enjoy your new chest.
peace...
